Ninja/Sage in FF3

When I got the class ninja and sage, I tried to use the jobs on my characters but it said that I don't have enough experience, what does that means?
Also, how do I get enough experience to use those jobs?

It probably said you didn't have enough capacity - those two classes take a lot of capacity to change to.

Yeah i meant FF3.

I dont think thats the case.
I have 255 capacity and it clearly states "Not enough experience for this job."
It only takes 40 for character to change but I couldn't change it.

I think I remember there being a lvl requirement for them. but i'm not sure, 'cause I haven't played that game in like 2 years or so. I think i ran into that problem once, but i usually don't cause i fight alot to get money for shurikens
