| Administrator | I got as far as taking back Castle Fynn last night. Digital pics of a TV are terrible though. My magic spells aren't all that great but I haven't been having difficulties. I'm pretty much only trying to level up the Fire, Ice, Esuna and Cure. I met up with quite a few of the Hill Gigas but they're not too much trouble with the Crescent Sword equipped. ![]() Taking back Fynn was too easy. ![]() |

| | OK lemme try and explain Aura; There are eight elements in FF2. Four are elemental (Fire, Ice, Lightning and Poison), whilst four are a bit odd (Dimensional, Mind, Body and Instant Death). Each enemy in the game has either a weakness or resistance to each of these, or perhaps they are indifferent. What Aura does is add an elemental unit to your physical attacks. If the enemy happens to be weak to that element then they will take extra damage. If not then nothing will happen to your damage output. The level of your Aura spell affects which types will be added. I don't know the exact order, but I do know once you reach Level 8 it will add all types of elemental attack. By the by, Barrier follows the same principal except it increases your defense, and Dispel again except it lowers the defense of the enemy to an element. I'm not sure what Wall does however... |

| Site Staff Cid's Knight | holy smurf I don't know what possessed me to ride a chocobo to mysidia, but I just now got back to altea. Holy crap that was a nightmare xD I had to reset until I got like the easiest battles possible and I still almost didn't make it xD But I have two copies of Change spell and an ice bow now! |

| Cid's Knight | Can anyone explain how raising evasion works in this game? From what I've heard before, having a high shield level is supposed to help- is evasion supposed to increase whenever you successfully dodge an attack? I've equipped my party members with two shields in the hopes it'll level up faster, but I haven't checked to see if this actually helps. |

| | Hm, I got to Mysidia too, but I took Leila's ship. The enemies we did run into were a cakewalk, but only because they're physically beat-down-able. The cavern in "what I think is Deist but might not be because my directional sense sucks" kicked my party's ass over and over again because those stupid flans and mousses there are resistant to physical attacks, and my team hasn't trained any magic. At all. Like, ever. -__-; GRINDING, HERE WE COME AGAIN! |
