My god, I hate Desert Barettas. They give you crap for all the effort you put into killing them. I also hate the Abyss Worms in the Earthgift Shrine, because they attack you and do living craploads of damage.

Cocktrices. These painful things show up in packs and often end up stoning a character, and they appear long before the "super" equipment is available to you.

And Ogres, just because for about an hour outside Elfland that's pretty much all you fight until you're strong enough to fight at cheater's penninsula.
Not to mention Barbaccia.

The potion vendor in the original NES version, for making me buy 99 potions one at a time. He's an enemy to efficiency.

Seriously though, most of the legitimate ones I could think of have been mentioned already. I'll go with Warmech as being the worst, for always appearing when you don't want him, and never appearing when you do for bestiary or EXP purposes.

Gas Dragons in the final Temple were pretty nasty, also.

If you play the emulator version, you could just place something on the Auto-Fire A Button; that's what I did.

I just manned-up and bought the PS Origins version, instead. Dash + No more 'ineffective' attacks + mass-purchasing potions = Yay.

Thanks for the tip, though.
