No, the warriors of the Lefeinish race were turned into bats when they tried to put an end to the Chaoses and all. In the NES translation, they were called the Sky Warriors. They're not the Warriors of Light, though.

There were five of them, I'm sure there was at least one Black Mage and maybe a Red Mage.
