Either way is fine with me. I think the idea in the opening post at least makes more sense than reversing the order of the FF forums.

There should be a way to customise where they are for each user. Like if you go onto YouTube.com you can arrange the front page headings so that the more important ones are higher.

I honestly don't think it will make much of a difference. Someone once said something like 'this really isn't a Final Fantasy board. This is a general discussion board with a focus on Final Fantasy.' It's true. Most of our most active members come here for general discussion. That's just our identity. There are plenty who come for FF discussion too, but I think most of them are fine with the layout.

That being said I don't really care if Reference or Staff get moved to the bottom. General stays where it is.

Yeah, General should stay on top for the reason Del said. Reference and Staff not so much. The Staff forums are entirely irrelevant to a large portion of the userbase. The Reference forums, I don't know, it just makes more logical sense to me to find them way down rather than somewhere in the middle.

I like Psychotic's Youtube-ish idea, but I'm not sure how doable it is. I looked around for vBulletin addons and whatnot, but I couldn't even find anyone asking about such functionality, much less distributing it.

Finding vB plugins to allow customized layout of forums probably can't be found because people don't really give that much of a smurf about layout of forums, except here of course.

Yeah I had a look for vB addons that did that too but couldn't find anything. We should ask Aaron Freed (yes, I appreciate that the merest mention of his name will cause him to magically reappear) if he knows of any!
