Truthfully, that image should probably be a JPEG. Even though it looks cool, 375KB for a banner image is a bit "expensive".

Oh, sorry! I misread what you said. I read it as 'if you haven't visited this place for a long time or [if you haven't] cleared browser cache'.

I notice that sometimes the image doesn't load all the way, especially after an image board raid. After I clear my cache, it seems to load just fine, and that's why I said what I said.

As for your situation, now that you clarified it, I have no idea.

you left out "converting it to low-quality jpeg" part.
There could be valid reasons why forum user(s) who complain(s) about specific problems can't offer the solution her/himself/(themselves).
