Don't they have that so the staff can make sure you have legitamite reasons for deleting posts? And in case you don't they'll disable you from deleting posts?

Tch, you can only delete your own posts anyways, and "I changed my mind and want to keep my mouth shut" is a perfectly valid reason for deletion.

you know it's very easy to undelete a softly deleted post, manus. . . and easier still to copy it to a new thread in GC. . .
