People hate them because they can't tell the difference between reality and fantasy. Spoiler: Just because he almost let 80% of humanity die, that's no reason to hate him as a character. :P

Rossiu's problem is he lives in a shounenverse instead of a realityverse. He's a guy who had to make some really tough decisions.
