#1 From what I can understand about EoFF, Cid's Knights are usually selected privately. So why has it suddenly become a public process? A gameshow, if you will. What was so wrong with the previous format, exactly? I hope it is not for entertainment purposes - the reality TV show theme has been strong throughout this contest, and as we all know, the point of reality TV is to laugh at other people's misfortune. It is clear that the rejection of being cut has hurt a few users, and it seems to me that "Ignorance is bliss" applies here. |

| Site Staff Cid's Knight | maybe we just don't know you kids anymore 8) and this is a good way to not only find potential future candidates, but bring into clearer focus some that we simply hadn't thought of before. And because it was getting boring and you guys needed some excitement. |

| | I think that they used this because its more fun and enjoyable than the normal plane jane selecting of a member. Sure a few people have been upset about being cut, but most of them seemed to understand and not get hurt. Its been fun, I think it was a good event to get people involved and let the staff have a bit of entertainment in the task of picking a CK. Also it has promoted more involvement with the site, (especially in round four) and is making members go to places they normally haven't. Thats my guess anyways. |

| Site Staff Cid's Knight | I haven't seen this level of interest or excitement in the forums before except around the Ciddies for the most part. That's what I'm enjoying most about this contest. It's pumped a lot of much needed life back into EoFF. I know some people were hurt they got cut and others will be but it is a contest and if they didn't can't accept that they they have no one to blame but themselves. |

| Cid's Knight | Basically yeah. Let people have fun, get people interested, make it interactive. All good things in my opinion. I think we really tried to stress the idea that people shouldn't feel bad about being cut, especially cause like... a whole group of great posters have been cut! You can't feel too bad being in that company. And we were never EVER planning on making our discussions about the selection process public. Imagine if we had done it American Idol style? Now THAT would have made people upset. Hopefully the way we set it up was equal parts general good fun, and interesting legitimate challenges. |

| | I'd like to think I'm going to excel at that, unless some of the male contestants look like Mr. Universe. *eyeshift* Overall, I'm with those who believe this will have been a good experience for the forums. People had/are having fun participating in the contest, and those not participating seem to be enjoying watching the contestants trying to prove themselves. And as Rubah said, it will allow the current CKs to have a list of people with potential for naming future CKs. |
