Those FFVII forums annoy me. Namely the Dirge of Cerebus and Advent Children one, seeing as they may get a post every six days (making them look dead by the front page forum standards) wouldn't it save space and looks by putting them as sub-forums in the FFVII forum?

Advent hasn't had a post since Azar on the 22nd, and Dirge since the 24th. Granted people look at them but they don't seem to be popular one's to post in.

Anyways! Those are my thoughts. Also, I don't think FFX-2 would have to bother following suit, it still gets posts... for some reason.

I think you're right. I have said, in the past, that the Final Fantasy VII forum should turn into the Compilation of FINAL FANTASY VII forum. I think that some people dislike that idea because it seems inconsistent with the idea of the Ivalice Alliance — Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Final Fantasy Tactics A2, and Final Fantasy XII; however, those are all generate enough traffic, right?

Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus had its own forum because it was part of a test site and domain centering around that game. I think that it would have been successful if that game was any good!

Yeah, there's eventually cause for consolidation when people have played the games enough not to talk about them so much. Crisis Core will complicate things somewhat in a couple months, though, if it generates a new surge in traffic.
