I noticed that EoFF does not have the option to attach a .docx (Word 2007)file. Although this isn't much of an issue as you can revert back to 97-2003 era Word file (.doc), doing so makes the file much, much larger. Thus, in effect, it makes uploading some texts impossible.

It's not required in any way really, of course, but it might be nice to have the option. If not now, perhaps in the near future.

Not many people use it, I don't think, but I do, and I think that is a good idea.

while we're on the subject, is odt a valid filetype for upload? I have no clue.

bmp: no one should be using these anymore. There are online converters that can turn them into (smaller) PNG files.

I know there are .___x versions of much of Mircosoft Office products, but other than Word, I don't see what the advantage might be in allowing the 2007 version of Excel, Powerpoint, etc... to be attached as well.

But I use Word much, much more often than Excel, so I can't comment fully on that.

Forget .docx otherwise we'll have to add all the openoffice equivalents Actually, the openoffice equivalents probably stand more chance of being added anyway seeing how the open document standard thing is going

Maybe we should add .7z as well, since that's even better than zip or rar and is open source

It doesn't really hurt us to have more extensions allowed, it just takes up a little more room in the php.

I'd just zip/rar/7zip it up before attaching it. Reduces the size and more importantly, is allowed.

On that note, tar/gz/tgz/bz/tbz should be allowed too.
