I can't help but think that one who gets a Premium Membership would soon be banned.

Honestly, let's look at 3 things on the list:

Can Close Own Threads
Can Open Own Threads
Can Change Thread Titles

If I had those powers, I, personally, would abuse them to no end. Can open my closed threads? Can change thread titles? It would be madness.

Why would features removed from the site for being abused be allowed to those whom pay to go to this forum? It's just advertisement to get our new forum-lord more money.

Bah to this foolishness, I say. Bah to it.

Out of interest, what would the staff do if a person with premium membership were to reopen a thread of theirs that was closed by a CK? I think Kentarou raises a valid point about how those things could be abused.

They still have to obey the rules, and that means if they re-open a thread that a CK closes, then they'll get warned/banned as appropriate. PM does not stop one from getting banned - the only thing that stops you from getting banned is owning the site. You pay for the ability to use it appropriately, not the God-given right to use it whenever you please.

Look at it this way: Everyone here is capable of posting porn. That doesn't mean you'll get away with it.

Recognized members have the ability to open and close their own threads and very few RMs ever abused that power. Just cause you have the ability doesn't mean that you're gonna abuse that ability. I mean, maybe YOU might, but you'd get banned.
