I could already do it for years as an RM, then when this PM stuff came out I was listed as one right away. I don't know what I did, but maybe it has something to do with buying extra private message space before. I've opened my own threads that have been closed before, but never in a bad way. Only in the general it's fun to do this but everyone that can't will think I'm elitist kind of way. I don't know if that was before or after the PM stuff came about.

Former staff can open and close their own threads too. You don't know how hard it has been for me sometimes. XD Damn mods closing my threads! *shakes fist*

Many users tend to send multiple private messages a day. Because of the low private message limit, it would make sense to those people to make a one-time payment, so that they don't have to worry about it — personally, I'd never pay for that type of membership unless there was a major benefit to it.

But i wouldnt roll out any gil just for that.

Couldnt you just politely ask a ck or such to close your threads for you anyway?
