I must ask, was there REALLY a need for the o rly filter?

Although, I must say, it is good for lazy typers, so now, instead of bothering to use grammar, I can simply type Oh, really? and a reasonably well grammared question comes up.

What I ask is, will this set a precedent? I mean, you can't change "u" to "you" or "2" to "to" and "r" to "are"

The lol filter was at least slightly humorous, but this seems a bit more like a vendetta.

Actually it was censored in an act of retaliation. "EoFF" was censored to "Optical receptors looking in the direction of a Japanese Role Playing Game" on the o rly owl forums, and so the EoFF staff refused to let this heinous crime go unpunished.
