I somewhat doubt it would have been archived regardless of what I, and others, did with the HTML. However, if what Del is saying is the case, how about they delete the offending posts with the crazy HTML and then archive the thread?

I wouldn't be opposed to this.

edit: Oh yes, I remembered. The last spam thread Linus made got himself and everyone in it temp banned. I suppose you could call that a trade off.
