There is, in fact, a limit on post size for the forums and it happens to be about 16MB = the data size of a mySQL mediumtext column type.

Wow...16,777,215...my NIN post was only 178,703 and that was at least 160 pages long. I would hate to imagine how horrendous 16 million is like.
