Actually I think what Randy is putting forth here is that when you type out Yo

aka Amano--the whole thing--it'll get filtered to Yoshitaka Amano, which doesn't really compromise the swear filter in any way that I can currently predict. But I guess you always have to be careful about giving Frito an inch, and it's not really a huge deal to just do the <b></b> thing since Amano's name doesn't exactly come up every day anyway. So yeah, man.
