#41 This thread is idiotic, and so is everyone who has posted in it. Except me. Last edited by Citizen Bleys; 02-10-2005 at 06:44 PM. Reason: The reason is idiotic |

Saying things like that probably isn't the best way to get your concerns to be taken seriously. If you are going to make a comment on lack of professionalism, you should probably take the time to make your complaint sound as professional as possible. Since this is your first time doing this, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and still address your issues. It seems to me that your main concerns are being singled out in the announcement, yours/other people's posts being called 'idiotic', and some sort issue on bias. I will address each. The warn button issue has been a problem for as long as I can remember. We don't like seeing spam in illegal threads because it promotes spam on the board, but like you said in red, that isn't the issue here. What is the issue is that we constnatly reference this when closing said threads, and I know I've seen at least one other announcement about it, but it doesn't seem to work. This time we decided to post examples of what we don't want to see, in hopes of putting a stop to it. I'm sorry that you didn't like seeing yourself or your friends singled out, but, like Bleys alluded to, we aren't going to go find every example of it. 4 chose the instances that he thought were the best examples. I thought he did a good job, since you are very popular and therefore would make one of the best examples. I didn't find the reference to the posts as 'idiotic' to be such a big deal, but you did and that's all that matters. There isn't much I can say, I didn't make the post so I can't apologize if it upset you. My take was that he was calling those certain posts idiotic and not all of your posts in general, and I do think those kinds of posts are idiotic, if that helps at all. Perhaps using names and calling the posts idiotic was not the best combination, and if that is your concern than maybe we can find a solution to that problem. As for bias, I have no idea if 4 has a bias against you. He said he doesn't and I believe him. If you don't, and this is something that concerns you, then this is something that you will have to take up with him one on one. We try our best not to let bias get in the way of running this message board, and as far as I can tell it didn't here. You aren't exactly the most model member when it comes to spam, Psy, so you shouldn't be surprised when your name keeps coming up for these issues. |

| | Haha, man, when the hell did I go back to kindergarten? Society has turned us into people who can't go around reading/seeing/hearing anything without becoming offended. I'm quite aware that this thread has nothing to do with Matt's announcement, and everything to do with bashing staff. So, instead of making all these threads disguising them with particular issues, let's just cut the bs and make a “let's criticize every staff decision” thread. I can handle that more easily than reading three of these same threads every month. |

| | I don't see a problem with Matt's announcement, and I don't see a problem with quoting anyone's posts. People may take offense at the odd remark or quotation, but remember, the Staff are only trying to keep EoFF free from the things that make all those other message boards on the Internet so horrid. Some people may not like the 'Attitude' that was used in the announcement, but I have absolutely no problem with it at all. Sometimes, to keep order in a place like this, you need to be fairly strict. And, as we've seen, Matt didn't mean to insult anyone. 'Idiotic' may not have been the most appropriate choice of words, but it certainly got the point across. Why take offense at something so trivial? Apologies if my post comes across as a rant of sorts - it isn't. I'm attempting to be completely logical. |

| | I'm late! But this thread is ridiculous, and yet so perfectly representative of eoff! A staff pet implies someone not as popular with the staff is a dog, and nobody cares. In defense, the victim calls the pet a dog back, and gets a warning! Way to prove everything Psy said in the first post, guys! I despise this forum like nobody would believe, which is a little sad because I used to like it quite a lot a few years ago when the staff lineup was different and everyone was a little less hateful. But you know, I'll keep coming back every so often because I know my very presence here causes the staff grief, and it's good to know I make a different in the internet world. |

| Former Staff | I'm confused, are you calling Kane a staff pet? Because he isn't. If you would research before you posted you'd see that he was on the staff's bad side just a month ago. I'm glad that you could bring your much needed input to this thread though. And you know you were warned the other day to stop taking stabs at people. If that's the only way you know how to post maybe you should just stop because it's not wanted here. |
