My best guess is it's drawn to amano's style which is like..

Hair + ALOT OF HAIR SPRAY + HURRICANE FORCE WINDS TO ONE DIRECTION = Rydia's hair.

I finally realized what it is that bugs me and makes me feel uncomfortable or rather unconvinced about the 'gender area' I menteiond previously.

In the area of circled in red it seems to be unfinised; that is the bikini area or clothing material should be coloured in to complete it. This, I believe, would resolve the problem I felt.
