I just bought it..Ben 12-24-2006, 06:57 PM I just bought this game and was wondering anything i should know about it, (no spoilers please). Like i have to go get the sunstone, any advice before i set out? (i haven't bought anything yet, should i stock up on potions?) Roto13 12-25-2006, 02:30 AM There are four chests you can't open if you want to get the most powerful spear in the game. I don't remember what they are. Timerk 12-25-2006, 03:05 AM One is in Lowtown near Old Dalan, one is in the Rabanastre Palace after you break in, one is in Nalbina Fortress when you get your weapons back after being arrested, and all the chests on the Phon Coast (they are in a big group). This is off the top of my head, so someone correct if wrong. Moon Rabbits 12-25-2006, 03:26 AM If I opened those chests can I still get other ultimate weapons, that aren't spears? Please say yes. For the love of God, please say yes. Roto13 12-25-2006, 04:09 AM Yes Dreddz 12-25-2006, 11:21 AM One is in Lowtown near Old Dalan, one is in the Rabanastre Palace after you break in, one is in Nalbina Fortress when you get your weapons back after being arrested, and all the chests on the Phon Coast (they are in a big group). This is off the top of my head, so someone correct if wrong. Its only one of the chests on Phon Coast, 4th one along. Renmiri 12-25-2006, 03:28 PM eeeeek!!! I opened all four of them :( Meh, Zodiac Spear is overrated (blows raspberry). That is what I get for playing w/o a walkthrough! I like the challeng though :D Ben 12-25-2006, 06:03 PM i have another question, i'm stuck on the mimic queen now...and i need help...i'm not very video game-iliterate when it comes to battles, and the gambits. Roto13 12-25-2006, 08:39 PM Hit it with your sword. Renmiri 12-25-2006, 11:50 PM Use "Items" to heal your characters before their numbers turn red on the screen (usually before they are at 1/4th their maximum HP). I usually heal mine before they are under 1/3rd of their HP. Phoenix down revives characters that are KO'd, potions and hi-potions heal HP (Health Points). Walking around restores MP (Magic Points) Set the "Config" options on the game for "Wait" battle mode and speed to low. This way you have time to pick your move before the monster pwns your entire party. See more here (http://ffproject.net/forumwiki/index.php/FFXII/Basics) Ben 12-26-2006, 01:24 PM thats the problem i run out of potions. Renmiri 12-26-2006, 06:10 PM Well, do you have a saved game from before you go to the palace ? If you can stand to redo this areas it will be the best strategy IMHO. I would go back to that saved game and go around Eastersand killing wolves, then sell all the loot you got and buy potions. Make sure you can buy a spell to heal, like "Cure" too. It is the alternative to potions. If you can't find it on Rabanastre try walking all the way north to Nalbina city, they have better stuff to sell there. Other than that, run away from the Mimic Queen, save, go back, hit her some more, flee, save, go back... If she doesn't heal herself it might work. http://ffproject.net/forumwiki/images/Daleastall.jpg | |
