Take it easy, haiku is like that! is suppose to have just three lines and don't make sense! ^^ Even though I'm not much of a fan of these poems I think they're interesting :D It's always good to try new ways of writting

ahhh but good haiku does make sense.

Like a painting or a picture, it is supposed to evoke a feeling, a memory, a story when you read, in just 3 lines.

I thought Haiku's are 5 sylables, 7, and 5. That one right there above me is 4, 4, 5.

In English

In Japanese it is the correct number.

That is Matsuo Basho, one of the creators of Haiku. He knows his business :D

Like a painting or a picture, it is supposed to evoke a feeling, a memory, a story when you read, in just 3 lines.Mine does make sense though. The other day I saw a massive praying mantis sitting on a dumbell on the floor. I thought "what the fuck?" and went about my business. :p

Assuming I didn't make any major mistakes, I wrote (or at least tried to write) :

It turns to fall
and becomes a little cold.
Ah, that's good, isn't it?

Clouds come.
From the clouds, rain
will probably fall.

It turned to Winter.
The birds
are flying south, you know.

It will snow
from Winter's clouds.
Snowmen!

It snows,
and the children play
in the snow.

Look, the children
are all happy.
It is a good time.

Without fail,
remember the good times.
Aren't they beautiful?

You are truly a poet, in both languages Vorpal Blade :D

I use Basho (again) to reply

iza saraba / yukimi ni korobu / tokoromade

now then, let's go out / to enjoy the snow... until / I slip and fall!

And sorry, got confused nik0tine. Being this an FF Forum I thought you were talking about something FF related. The big monster on FFX2, Vegnagun looks like an insect. A praying mantis ?

Alas, it snows not
in this town in which I live.
I am too far south.

I saw the snow once.
But It was so long ago.
Oh, I do miss it so...

Kono machi de
yuki ga furanai.
yoku s.hitau.

(In this town
it does not snow.
I miss it)

demo, ame ga
tokidoki furu yo.
yuki ga hoshii.

(But, it
sometimes rains, you know.
I want snow.)

Boku wa uta
o rajio de kiku.
yoi uta da.

(I listen to a song
on the radio.
It's a good song.)

I'll be honest man - haiku isn't the best avenue for about-faces in poems.
