American Idol winner inside

A few minutes ago, Taylor Hicks was declared the winner of the fifth season of American Idol.

I personally thought Taylor was going to win after Chris Daughtry was voted off. Needless to say, I wanted either Chris or Taylor to win.

As the results show hasn't aired yet on the West Coast, I have renamed the title of this thread. Please be aware of time zones and spoilers in the future.

Luckily I don't care about this show so I wasn't spoiled (but if anyone posts Lost spoilers, so help me...). My girlfriend likes Taylor best so I'm sure she'll be happy with this. When I watched the show with her in the past I thought Chris was the best too.

Is it possible to hear some samples of their singing or something? Y'know, for us crazy foreigners.

I like Taylor Hicks, but my favorite was Katharine McPhee.

At least that one guy didn't win. I never watched this show ever in my life, not even an episode, before this year, and it was because of Chris. I still have no idea why he was kicked off.

I only watch the first episode or so of each season to see all the people who think they can sing. You know, when I remember the show still exists.

I was forced to watch/listen to most of the season this year, or atleast the last half or so of it, and I think a lot of people that shouldn't have been sent home got sent home. I personally feel that Bucky never should have stayed longer than the one lady, I forget her name, big black lady that got cut semi-early. I will never forgive that Bucky character for totally SLAUGHTERING Simple Man.
