I say it like Kwistis

a friend of mine says it like Keystis

what do you pronounce it as?

Keystis. I believe that's the right one (I used to say Kwistis too), because it's French. Or so I read once. Plus Keystis sounds waaaay prettier.

ah yes, French. Keystis is better sounding, it just comes out easily. I will say it like that from now on.

Qui in French means Who? of What? (depending on how you use it in a sentence) and you pronounce it like the word key in English. So you are correct
But the word Quiz in French is pronounced the way English people do (It's a word they took over from English, I don't know the correct English term for that word)

Her name comes from Kisuteisu. So it should be logical to think her name should be pronounced like kistis

"kee-this", xD. i beat the game and didn't change my little language problem. once it sticks to me, it will stay that way...

I think he just thinks it's unique in that that's not a very often used pronunciation. The proper way to say it is "Kee-stis", though everyone will use a different pronunctiation, so it doesn't really matter. :cat: Most people seem to say "Kee-stis", "Kiss-tis", "Kwi-stis" (As I did for awhile), and any others I forgot.

"Quest-is" sounds kinda neat, actually. :choc2:

That's what's good about FFX and upwards the names of spoken so there's no struggling to figure it out yourself. Many moons ago when I started to play FF8 I didn't even notice that Seed said.... well... Seed cos the d was capital I said See D until my brother pointed it out.
