[RP] Kingdom of the Sea

The Triumphant Hero
12-05-2005, 03:53 AM
Long ago, there were three great nations of wealth, importance, and power. These nations were:

Sioscia, a giant land where the bladesmanship was not just a skill, but an art. The wise emperor of this nation was Emperor Graius. It's lands were a great and far reaching plain.

Agrasnia, where honor ruled over actions and any dishonorable deed could initiate a long-lasting and deadly feud. It's just and fair ruler was The Great Thaemn. It's lands were an ever-expansive desert, split by a mountainous wall.

Darsina, a pristine and watery kingdom of peace and trade, where a simple life was the way of life. The great king of this land was King Sadrin. It's lands were beaches of sand and the great and fickle sea.

These mighty nations stood peacefully for many years. Until the Great War. Historians do not know how it started, but they do know this. The Sioscian king led a campaign across the world in an attempt to seize it all. This is the story of the Great War. A story of conquest and battle, and of a mighty empire, an honorable republic, and a kingdom of the sea.

Let's give this a try...

Character Creation

Name: Bob (love that name) Entrefi

Class: Mage Warrior

Nation: Sioscia

Equipment: Katana, Wazikashi and light mail.

Ship: Doesn't own one

Skills: I guess fire sword spell, an ice one, thunder, and water. Also a low level shield and a longer distance flame spell.

Signature move: Some type of Zantetsu type, a quick, brutal strike possibly followed by others. Nothing special like a wildly powered up move with many complications but a much stronger one then the norm.

Money: 2,000 Sirncas

Description: Bob is a cynical person who frequently argues when it can be quite stupid too. He is frequently called someone who hates everything, he would disagree and spend some time tearing apart their argument. Cynical, honest, quiet when not argueing. He grew up learning how to fight, and is pretty good at it. His childhood was reasonably normal. He joined the army as a means to get money, some of which he sends home (though of course I won't be so daft as to voluntarily give up money just to appease family that will probably have no value during the RP, we can errr... pretend).

Edit: Final Update Complete

You only have 2,000 Sirncas (see change in rules).

Bob
You are in a military encampment near the northern border (Agrasnia). You are with an invasion force of about 80 other people. There is nothing going on now so you can talk and learn the lay of the land. the layout is two rows of 8 bunk sets and a mess hall at the end. The early warning systems and archers are stationed at the end across from the mess hall.

Fixed

I'll also assume Bob doesn't know the group or politics of the situation very well.

Bob
Heads over to an officer, not high enough up to be unwilling to talk to him, but not low enough down to lack in information. "Hi. I'm kinda new here, I was wondering if you could give me a sense of what;s going on at th moment? such as where were headed or anything. I know this might be secret but I'd like to know as much as I can." While Bob is a jerk he also tries to get as much info as he can, and will make the sacrifice of being nice to get there.

Bob
The officer says, "We're getting ready to move in, so don't get too comfortable. Better get with your unit, cause we're fighting tomorrow."

Bob
Heads over to his unit looking around to see what other types of troops are in it.

The Triumphant Hero

Bob
You see eight archers, three swordsmen, 3 mages. From looking, you can't tell much else.

Bob
Waits until something occurs. Once he's gotten the info he feels he needs he's not interested in talking.

Bob
The day of the invasion arrives. Your unit is ordered to lead the frontal assault. You see a group of about 150 people in the opposing division to beat back the invasion.

Bob
Bob first casts a thunder spell on his sword (I assume that with the type of boost lightning would give this would speed it up) and then begins preparing a earth spell to disrupt enemy troops but doesn't cast until commanded.

The Triumphant Hero

Bob
You see a light grey shadow over the invasion force. When you look up, you see a cloud of about 80 arrows, some set aflame obviously by magical means. Your commander gives the order to shield from the arrows. Meanwhile, the 70 ground troops rush your force.

raskerino

Bob
Quietly steps behind some people with shields has probably completed his thunder cast on his katana, and now casts the earth spell attempting to hit the center of the enemy force- not the front lines but those right behind.

The Triumphant Hero
12-12-2005, 02:28 AM
Bob
The arrows mainly miss, but some implant themselves into the shields. Your commander was hit, but it did not pierce his armor. The enemy rush was succesful and only 20 were killed by your archers. One engages you. Your earth spell was succesful, but only killed 8. The enemy archers prepare to fire again.

raskerino

Bob
Turns to give his opponent less of a target as he pulls out his wazikashi in his right hand (he's lefty, which helps in swordfights) and stabs quickly with his katana.

The Triumphant Hero
12-12-2005, 02:42 AM
Bob
Your stab slips between two plates of armor on the enemy's chest and goes through him just as the enemy archers release. The enemy's falling corpse provides enough cover to not get hit by the arrows. As you look around you see that you have roughly 45 men left, but all the enemy foot soldiers are dead. You see the mages come forward and launch fire spells rapidly to prevent the archers from firing as the foot soldiers are given the order to charge.

Bob
Steps back surprised as the man's body in front of him is the only thing that stopped his death. He quickly moves back and prepares a lightnig spell against the archers.

(This needs more people, one just doesn't have the right feel to it)

The Triumphant Hero
12-13-2005, 12:22 AM
I'm not exactly popular. People don't respond to my stuff alot.

Bob
The archers are unable to prepare a shot as the mages are laying excellent suppressing fire. The troops all charge and your thunder spell hits an archer, sending electric waves through him.

raskerino
12-13-2005, 12:31 AM
Yeah I've had my share of threads (during my short amount of time) that have been ignored.

Bob
Stays towards the back of the crowd and begins preparing another thunder spell.

The Triumphant Hero
12-13-2005, 12:42 AM
This is the first that I've had a response to.

Bob
As the close range soldiers arrive, the archers are overrun. Your thunder spell is slightly more effective than last time, as it required less strength at a shorter range. You've won the battle. For now.

raskerino
12-13-2005, 10:13 PM
Bob
Checks how much strain the spells had, then sees what's happening next. He looks around to check the scenery around, for example if there's a town.

The Triumphant Hero
12-14-2005, 12:17 AM
Bob
There are no friendly towns in the area. The ones in the area are fortified enough to keep your force out. The spells left you tired, but not to the point of exhaustion.

Sorry I forgot about this...

Bob
Seeing nothing to do he waits for the next mission given.

The Triumphant Hero
12-19-2005, 10:50 PM
It's OK...

Bob
Your part in the invasion is over for now. You are given leave to do whatever, but may be called back to action at any time. You could go to a nearby friendly town, return home, etc.

raskerino
12-25-2005, 03:37 PM
Bob
In that case he goes to the nearest town to get a good weel deserved drink and to check the news going round.

The Triumphant Hero
12-26-2005, 04:24 PM
Bob
You have to pay 1 sirnca for the drink. You can buy equipment, ships, train, etc. Also, you got 500 sirncas for the mission.
