Damn, it's hot in here. BJ and I are too sad and poor to run the air conditioning when it's hot like this, so instead we just sit in front of fans in our undies. Is that sad?

Are you too poor to touch the thermostat? When I was home alone at my mom's house I used to crank the thing... my stepdad would get pissed. Now I'm paying for it though so forget that.

I'm only a teenager living with her parents, so I pretty much bug my parents to death during hot weather until they turn it on. Luckily, New York doesn't have a lot of sweltering days.

We don't have any AC. :)

We only have air conditioning in two rooms. Luckily, one of them is mine, as I have bad allergy problems during certain periods of the year. So I always have it roaring when I go to sleep, if it's hot.

Heh. We don't even HAVE AC, but don't because we're poor. My dad is really, really dumb about these kinds of things, so for him, the fans are enough.

We have a heater, but even when it's freezing, he doesn't let us use it, and actually shuts the whole system off. None of us know how to use the thing either, so we're stuck.

All my utilities are part of the rent. So if I run the AC a lot, I don't pay more. Of course, I don't abuse this in fear of my landlord changing this policy.

But I set the thermostat at a reasonable level without having to worry about my bills.

I have a little AC unit set in my window, as my trailer is like a gigantic oven. I try to use it as little as possible, because I cant afford it... and I also feel rather bad for my room mate, alone in her non-air conditioned room.

Weclome to Southern California, where the wind offers no relief from the heat! Unless you're all wet... I just took a shower, so the fan's feeling pretty good right now. Mm...

On those rare occasions we have a summer breeze, it's a dry desert breeze 95% of the time.

I'm very conservative with my car's AC. It gets run while I'm pulling out of the school's parkinglot because 85 degrees makes it a bit stuffy in there. But all the rest of the way home it's windows down with the fan only.

Oh, and trying to use windows as houyse AC here?

It would be a friggin' sauna. Most especially in august when it gets to be 105+ outside everyday. With tons of humidity.

No air conditioning at my apartment nor at my parents house...but it doesn't get that hot.

I'm used to the heat here, so I don't really need any air conditioning. Well, I tend to eat too much Frozen Goods, so I'm cool all the time. :p

I have a verandah. It works better than AC and I can't turn it off.

We have A/C in my house, but we're not using it for some reason. :(

And I roll down my windows in my car to keep from guzzling gas with the A/C there.

I have no air conditioner in my room, and I'm in hell...so I fry from about April to October.

Makes sense though...because it's hell after all.

No need to turn up the heat in Malaysia! But we need AC and fans everywhere, so it balances itself out. AC and fans are a necessity, a way of life. One doesn't think of it twice. Or even once.

I hate the summer nights in England where it's too hot to sleep with the bed covers on. :-/

Oh if one ever needed to use AC one could afford it. But global warming is going to have to do a lot better than it is now if that is ever going to happen.
As for when it is cold, we just light the fire in the main hall: it soon warms up the house. The radiators help too.

I like it warm so I just run the dehumidifier to take the water out of the air so I have dry heat...and a fan if it is too hot. If I wanted I could run the AC as I still live with my parents but even if I didn't, I could afford it.

I don't like to use the AC...we get precious little heat here, so when it gets hot, I relish it.

I use a ceiling fan when it's hot, or I also turn the AC up on the thermostat. I also have to use my car AC a lot, because when it sits out in the Texas sun for most of the morning, into past noon, it gets really, really hot.

It's only in the upper 90's right now. I'll worry about AC this summer when it gets hot out.

The people here use the AC way too much then complain when the electric bill is over $400. -.-

$400! That's a lot o_o Next year my boy and I will be living in his apartment (well, efficiency, so it's very small!) and we will have to conserve a lot so that the electric bill doesn't go over much at all ^_^
