[RP] Darkness Rising

So basically, I'm writing a new story! (yet again!) and I need help making characters! Help me please!!



In the city of Täuschung in the year 23 of the Emperor Lys reign, he died mysteriously in the night. A high lady of the court, Natta, moved to assume the throne, but, as she did that, his only child and his heir, who had been born only a few weeks before and still remained unnamed, disapppeared. Along with his child, disappeared the newest heir to the throne of Luce, who had been born a few days before the death of Lys and was a boy child.
Natta, in her maternal rage, destroyed the two older children of Lys, Derin and Meria, she then assumed the throne, but sent people to search for his child, and the only living person who could challenge his rule. She was, however, unsuccessful.
Natta was not a good ruler. She was oppressive and tended to violent rages. Under his reign, the country of Sorriso, once happy and peaceful, turned to an evil, vile place, full of robbers, thieves and dark magic. The once beautiful capital city fell to ruin and Sorriso, always regarded as a peaceable nation, who would rathis trade than fight, began wars to expand it's territory.
The three neighboring countries of Denza( a desert country), Acqua(an island country) and Albero( a forested country) resisted and were successful. They accepted many refugees from Sorriso and slowly, Natta began to retreat back into his own country.
Sorriso was now a terrible place to live, people starved and were murdered almost every day. The Faeries had abandoned the place, leaving for Acqua and Albero mostly. Natta held onto his rage and anger, building up his forces until she felt the time was right to attack...
Thus had 17 years passed....
DEFINED---
Faeries- A race of tall, winged people who a very slender and pale. They possess superior magical skills and live only in areas full of light and peace. They are very shy and approach only those worthy. Mostly hisoes and royalty.
Lys- A fair and just ruler who died when he was 33. He assumed the throne when he was 10. His wife, Bevin, died in childbirth to their third and final child. The royal family was fair, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Natta- A woman who was very high up in the court hiearchy. Her husband died shortly after she concieved his first and only child. After Lys death, she assumed the throne and put all the people against it to death. She is rumored to be extraoridinarily beautiful and she has powerful magical skills. his family line was dark, with black hair and no particular shade of eyes.

Appearance: Slightly slender but muscular and tall.He gives off an air of being self-assured but sometimes has no clue what He doing. He's always friendly and likes to laugh.
Weapon(s): A long, thin sword made of a blue metal that absorbs water which is what makes it stronger, the hilt is silver and inlaid with turquoise. He is agile, but clumsy and sometimes falls while attacking
Accessories: A silver chain necklace with a golden sun on it. Origin unknown.
History: Born to the Emporer Lys and his wife Bevin on January 25th in the 23rd year of his fathers reign. Her mother died during childbirth and his father died shortly after his birth. He was stolen away in the night, along with Natta's child and sequestered safely away by his uncle Lucian who died shortly after. He was raised by a woman named Kalisto and a man named Dea. He became very close to their children and never knew he wasn't a child of theirs until he was 16 years old. On his birthday, Kalisto gave him a necklace and told him that he wasn't truely their child and had been brought to them by a friend 16 years before. Heartbroken, Fiore fled to Acqua's capital city of Maire in hopes of finding out something of his past. He never did however and got a job working at a pub called The Barnacle. He was waiting until she saved up enough money to go find his real family but his job was wearisome and He was always exhausted. One day, a strange young man entered the pub. They chatted awhile, and then his necklace slipped out of his shirt. Shocked but overjoyed, the man gave him the sword but he declined. Another man came in the pub and wounded the young man, then tried to take the sword, Fiore snatched it and ran to his room but he was persued. Then man attacked him and he killed him. The young man had vanished without a trace. Fiore locked the sword in a chest, detirmined to not use it again until he started on his journey.

Fiore stepped out of his room into the cool, dark streets of Maire. He yawned and stretched his arms. The elderly woman that lived across the street waved to him and he waved back, then continued on his way to work. Along the way he noticed two tall, cloaked strangers following him. Irritated, he tried to give them the slip but they followed.
Now slightly scared, Fiore started to run. He leapt over a fence seperating yards. The strangers followed closely and silently. Fiore started to panic. He ran as fast as he could towards the enterance to the pub but before he could make it there, a heavy blow fell across his neck and he lost conciousness.

Appearance: Slightly muscular and tall. He gives off an air of insecurity at times but sometimes comes off arrogant. He's usually somewhat nervous around others, but is far more capable than most.
Weapon(s): He is agile, attacking with his feet in a Capoeira-style (cap-E-era)
Accessories: A gold chain necklace with a silver crescent moon. Origin unknown.
History: The nameless child of Natta stolen away with Fiore by Lucian many years ago. Though raised with a humble family in Acqua and given a name, this young man's ever-present awareness of his ties elsewhere drives him to disown his connections here. Thus he takes the moniker, "No-Name" until such time that he can discover his true identity.

No-Name wanders around the village, reading a book as he usually does. His social behavior an atrocity, No-Name is known as the "Solo Act" throughout the village. His attention devoted to the book in his face, he does not notice as a nearby cart of round fruit spills out into his path. Even so, as he moves, he does not step on a single fruit and does not falter in course or speed. As he leaves the general area of the fruit, he kicks one of them up and takes it for his walk.
As he struts down the dirt path through the few sparse palm trees, reading and eating, he hears an unfamiliar voice coming from up ahead. In his curiosity, he hastens himself slightly, yet not enough to upset his reading.

As Fiore stumbled through his shattered conciousness, he began to remember...
A while back...
Fiore watched one of the prettier waitresses from behind the bar . She turned and smiled at him, then flounced to the back room. Fiore sighed and started mixing up a customers order.
Suddenly, a strange young man sat down in front of him. Fiore leaned forward to ask the man what he wanted. He felt the cool chain of his necklace slid out from under his shirt. The young mans eyes widened and he leaned forward to touch it. Fiore jerked back.
"What are you doing man?!" The young man smiled, embarrassed.
"I'm sorry, it's just, do you know what that sigil means?" Fiore frowned and shook his head negatively.
"It means I should give you this," the young man said as he pulled out a magnificent blue sword. Fiore gasped and shook his head again.
"I couldn't... I mean... you can't give me this...," he laughed selfconciously. The young man frowned.
"Why not? It is yours, after all..." Fiore frowned.
"I'm pretty sure I would have remembered owning something that awesome." The young man sighed and then spun as a tall, dark man entered the room. He drew his longsword slowly, the metal seemed to absorb the light around it. It glowed eerily.
The young man cursed and pulled out the blade. As he swung around to swing at the man, the stranger impaled him. The young man twitched once and blood dripped from his mouth. He dropped the sword to the ground and was still. Fiore looked up frantically at the strange man, whose eyes snapped to his necklace instantaneously. The man grinned and lifted his sword, the patrons began to shriek and pour out of the tavern. The waitresses fled too. Fiore faced the man alone.
The man cackled. "So long heir..." Fiore dove for the sword just as the man swung. He felt the passing of it and shivered. As he hit the ground, he grabbed the sword and rolled once. He got to his feet and pointed the sword at the man, who merely chuckled. He swung once again at Fiore but this time, he was ready. As the man swung, Fiore ducked and brought the sword up into the man's side. The man choked and wrenched the sword out. "Impossible," he breathed. Fiore took his head off in one blow.
Fiore shuddered awake and saw a slender figure standing over him. "Who... are you...?" he croaked.

History: Born in Arboro,Elzic has trained since he was 5 to master the arts of martial arts, and archery,necesary skills to become a rnager..His skill has greatly increased as he tries to become the greatesst archer forever and in his own time. One day, whilke practicing in the woods, a faerie blessed him with a magical bow and quiver and unlimited arrows, and when she gave them to him, she said if he needed them in close combat, they would transform into a spear.



Elzic was praticing archery near the ocean, so he could cool off after. He noticed a distant noise.It sounded like horses at a full gallop. It turned out to be nomadic raiders. Elzic took his bow and quiver and staying in his everyday clothes, headed for adventure. He stood at a standstill with the raiders.ONe of them said"Hah a puny little kid thinks he can stop us.GET OUT OF HERE PUNK!
Elzic with a lightning fast arm armed his bow and in a matter of seconds the raider was dead.The raiders all unmounted and attacked Elzic.THe bow and quiver transformed into a spear.With lightning fast reflexes all were dead except for 1, dressed in black, unlike the others dresses in white.Presumably the leader, he took out his sword and Elzic charged him but the bandit leader dodged and gave Elzic a cut on his right arm. The 2 battledf it out trading blow for blow, until Elzic thrust his spear with suck great accuracy, it completely pierced the heart.THe town was safe.Elzic went to the ocean t cool but became dizzy.IN a matter of moments, he had passed out and drifter into the sea, with only his bow made of unsinkable wood keeping him afloat.

No-Name saunters down to the beach where he finds a very young man, washed ashore, unconscious. He kicks him in the side.
"Hey. Who are you?"
The kid stirs. No-Name nudges him with his foot.
"Hey, kid. Wake up. Who are you? How'd you get here?"
Elzic Ash looks up at No-Name, curious.

Elzic awoke with his bow and quiver, and a mysterious guy standing right in front of him. I am Elzic Ash, from the town of Rangaro, in the land of Arbolo.I am training myself to become the greatest ranger in all the land and in all history. The last thing i remember is fainting in the ocean after a fierce battle. Elzic suddenly felt a stingin on his arm.It was the cut from the bandit leader.Elzic ripped his slleve off, and tied it around his wound. Now I ask the questions. Are you ally or foe? What is your name? Where are you from?

"Hey, you arrived on my beach, pal. Assume what you want." The young man struts away. He turns back slightly to Elzic Ash. "Call me No-Name."

Hair Color and style: Purple in color, pulled back into a simple ponytail

Outfit: She wears a dark long sleeved shirt, showing a bit of cleavage, with a black overcoat and a gray mini skirt that stops just above her knees.
Appearance: She is a beautiful young girl, skinny yet a tiny bit of muscle tone. She hates when people think just because she is pretty, that she can’t fend for herself. She is very strong and can take guys twice her size. Otherwise, she is very kind and gentle.
Weapon(s): Crossbow
Accessories: She has both ears pierced. She wears arm, leg, and neck bracelets. Along with a locket shaped like a heart.
History: Macey grew up in a small port/farming town called Merik. She lived peacefully with her parents and her two brothers and her one sister on the family farm that had been in the family for generations. But her whole family, her friends, and her only love were all killed in a Sorrisan attack. With most of the people of Merik gone, her family and friends dead, and her home destroyed, she fled to Acqua in search of help.




Macey wandered silently through the luss grass landscape of Acqua. She reviewed the details of her quest in her mind as night fell. She paused and sighed. She would not make Maire by night, apparently. She decided to make camp underneath a cluster of trees not too far away.
As she approached the trees, she heard the crackle of fire and a low mans voice talking. Under the cover of some brush, she crept near. On the ground, near the fire, was a tall, burly man wearing red armor with a Sorrisan emblem. Further away from the fire was a slender young man who was bound and tightly gagged. Macey frowned.
The young man looked strong... maybe he could help her if she saved him! Her plan ready, Macey careful took aim with her crossbow and fired on the Sorrisan warrior.
The bolt took him in the head and he fell instantly. Macey grinned and crept over to the man, beginning to untie his bonds. He stirred and groaned. "Who are you?" he croaked. Macey smiled as the rest of the bonds fell away.
"My name's Macey, I'm from Denza. Heading to Maire.
Who are you?"

"My name's Fiore," he said slowly, getting to his feet. He smiled at the girl. "Thanks very much for saving me. You said you were headed to Maire, right? I can take you there, just let me get this guys' sword." He walked over to the man and wrenched the sword from the mans scabbered. He untied the scabbard and looped it twice around his own slender waist, then slid the sword into it. "Do you want to come with me? King D'Aril lets vistors in as long as they're not from Sorriso."

"Yes! Please take me there." She was excited. She knew the guy would help her if she saved him. "So, who is this king D'Aril you speak of?" she asked. " "I know nothing of Aqcua. It's my second time visiting here. So exuse me for sounding clueless."

"Hey, you arrived on my beach, pal. Assume what you want." The young man struts away. He turns back slightly to Elzic Ash. "Call me No-Name."
WAIT!Where is this place, and Where are the shops?And is there anyway for a kid my age to be able to get money, or find shelter?

"The island nation of Acqua." He turns away again. Knowing the kid would undoubtedly continue to pester him, he waves for him to follow.

Elzic began to trail after No-Name, thinking he might get a little to annoying if he asks some more questions.

Normally, No-Name can deal with uncomfortable silences, he has for years. However, there's something about this kid . . .
"Acqua." He says. "The island nation of Acqua. I've been here as long as I can remember. It is a . . . paradise."

Acqua?Elzic has never been out of Arbolo, so he had many more questions he did not wanted to ask, but though this NoName might not help if he pestered him. ONe last question for a little while, Why do u call this place a, a paradise?

"I've never seen anyone cry."

No-Name chuckles lightly to himself. I have seen a person cry. A long, long time ago. I don't remember who. I remember I wanted to cry too. I've never felt that way again, living here. "Hmm." For the first time in my life, I realize the splendor of this world. No-Name smiles.

Outfit: Black tank top with net-like cloth that loops around the shoulders. Black pants and leather boots with metal heels and tips.
Appearance: Slim; thin. Fragile-looking, but very agile.
Weapon(s): Kodachi and fists.
Accessories: A small, obsidion dagger that she wears as a necklace.
History: A young girl of Konoa, she began traveling on her 15th birthday as per the tradition. She lives as a treasure and bounty hunter, not revealing much of her past. Though it is guessed to be somewhat dark.

"Hm?" Erin glanced at No-name and Elzic curiously. "What are they doin' out in the middle of nowhere?" She mused, falling in pace 10 feet behind them.

Back in Arbolo, almost everyday someone cried, but not the tears of sorrow, but the tears of joy. We were all blessed having everything we could want, which was only one thing,that was a good life. It was kinda funny, seeing that I'm the cause of probably the first tears of sorrow in Arbolo. How ironic, im tried to prevent tears fighting off a bandit raid and prevent tears, and now Ill cause them.As Elzic finished this sentence, he felt likje there was a presence of another thing. He went on guard

Seeing Elzic's sudden awareness, Erin glanced around cautiously, thinking that there was a threat. (She's so clueless sometimes ^^; )

"Acqua isn't too far from where you live, I think...", Fiore said smiling. "The capital of Acqua is Maire, and you know that, so you must not be totally clueless. Denza's much more open to trade than, say, Albero or Sorriso."
"We're almost completely cut off from the rest of the world here so this place, it's almost perfect. Sorriso barely attacks us at all because of the isolation, plus we have the Sea Serpents which are the natural guardians of Acqua and we have Merpeople too... but they live on a seperate island from the main one." Fiore takes out a wrinkled map from the pocket of his worn shorts. Opening it, he scans the island.
He kneels and sets it on the ground. Pointing with his finger to a small outlet about 20 miles from Maire, he glances up at Marcey. "We're somewhere around here... and the nearest village is here....", he points to a small town called Shaika. "It's supposed to be pretty nice so we can go there for the night, it's only about an hour away, if that. We should be there a bit after nightfall." He refolds the map and stands up, grinning at Marcey. "You think you can make it?", he chuckles, completely joking.

Elzic suddenly tripped over his own feet, being that he was still exhausted, and some blood loss.As he stood up, he saw a figure a couple meters away.(just so u know, about 3 feet equals 1 meter.)He grabbed his bow if it was a threat, called No-Name, and asked "What is your name, and is there a reason you're following us?"

"Whoa...." She held her hands up to show she was no threat. "I'm Erin. Erin Kiantei. I don't wish you any harm." She said slowly. "Um, could you put that bow down? Those things can be just a liiiiiiiittle dangerous, and I haven't even drawn my weapon."

It took Macey a minute to realize that he was joking. She then smiles at him "Of course I can." she giggled.
"I'm getting tired...You probably are too, so lets try and hurry to....what's the towns name again?" She asked forgetfully.
"So....Fiore, tell me a bit more about yourself while we walk. " She told him with a smile.

As No-Name continued to walk, once again engorged in his book, he heard a faint shout and a lot of mumbling. He turned back to see Elzic Ash as merely a small figure far away. No-Name had left him behind.
He watched as the archer aimed an arrow at someone he couldn't quite make out from this distance.
Curious and perhaps a bit concerned for the boy, No-Name took a step forward. Allowing the image of the bow and arrow to sink into his mind, he realized that the lad could handle himself well enough. He decided against rash action and opted to continue to the village. The road is easy enough to follow. Only a fool would get lost. He stopped as he considered this. No. He looked back with renewed yet everslight concern.
"Bah! I'm being ridiculous!" No-Name turned and continued on toward the village.

Elzic didnt unarm his bow, just pointed it down instead.Im going to a village, down this road.Would you like to come?

"Uh.... sure." She said, still watching the bow. "Actually, that's where I'm going too... Gotta find myself... well, gotta find something to look for." She gave a small smile, not bothering to explain what the hell she was talking about.

Elzic finally disarmed his bow and dropped his gaurd. He waved for Erin to follow as he ran to catch up with No-Name.

No-Name sits reading in the house of his foster family. He looks through the open door out into the village from the chair on which he sits rather uncomfortably. Reading has always been able to relax No-Name no matter the stress or awkwardness of any situation. He sees Elzic Ash saunter by . . . apparently he's looking for him.
No-Name stands up and walks toward the open door. As he watches Elzic and a young girl looking about the town, he considers, Perhaps I should show him where he can rest. The young man shakes his head. What a hassle. The inn wouldn't be that hard to find. No-Name sat and returned to reading his book.

Erin glances around the town, making mental notes of good places to get information. "This is a pretty nice place; very peaceful." She commented.

Fiore smiles as Macey as they begin to walk south. "Um, well...", he says, scratching the back of his head. "I was raised here, in Acqua. I lived in a little town called Onda until last year. I found out my parents, or rather, the people who had raised me, weren't really my parents... so I left and moved to Maire. My younger sister, Leina, wanted to come but she stayed behind," he added as an afterthought.
Grinning at her, he finished. "And that's my life story, pretty much! We should be in Shaika in about a hour or so, you can tell me some things about yourself too!"

A snort of some sort causes No-Name to open his eyes and stare at the ceiling.
"Huh?" No-Name had apparently fallen asleep. This was most irregular. No-Name has never fallen asleep while reading a good book. Then again, this time, his mind wasn't really focused on the book. He had spent a good while thinking about that girl who now accompanied Elzic Ash. He feels as though there is some familiarity there.
No-Name shakes his head at the thought. Impossible.
The young man closes his book, which is also a most irregular thing for him to do. He walks out the door and stretches his limbs. Sun. I'll get some sun. A most uncommon decision . . . something must really have him unsettled.
He heads out of the village to the beach where he had encountered Elzic Ash. I wonder how long I was asleep.

Macey frowned. "Uh, well. It's a bit hard for me to say. It makes me sad." She looked at him. "But I guess I can tell you." She smiled a bit. "I've lived a pretty simple life.....so far. I was born and raised in the town of Merik in Denza. I helped my father take care of the farm. I guess that's where I get my bit of muscle." She chuckled. "I miss my home..." She said as a tear started running down her cheek. "I really do..."

Fiore watched her for a moment, not exactly knowing what to do. He put his hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry. Once we get to Maire, your family will be avenged. Til then, I'll stay with you." He looked up, noticing a small light. His look of concern broke into one of suprise.
"We were much closer to Shaika than I thought! If we follow to beach line, we should be there in a few minutes!" He turned to Macey grinning and hugged her, then backed off quickly.
"Um....", he flushed.

Macey giggled a bit. "It's okay." She told him, knowing that he was nervous about him hugging her. Then she smiled at him as she started to blush. "Well lets go." She said as she was very anxious to change the subject, as she was embarassed.

*blalgalgla!!* No-Name gasps and air bubbles fly out of his mouth, he desperately tries to sweep them back in. What was he doing here?
No-Name has been most irregular today. First, he fell asleep reading a BOOK. Next, he CLOSED his book. Third, he'd come to the beach for a bit of SUN. Finally, he had decided to swim as far to the bottom of sea as could to search for something worthwhile.
No-Name had never done anything this foolish to stifle his boredom before today. Before he met Elzic Ash. Before he saw that girl.
As he tries to reason with himself, he notices a glimmer near the sea-bottom and decides to swim for it.
No-Name arrives at a large rockface (not actually a face) with an opening near the bottom just big enough for him to fit. He climbs inside and finds a pocket of air.
Finding comfort in his oxygen, No-Name looks around to notice that he is inside a cave. How very strange. He thinks to himself.

"Okay then," Fiore said, recovering his composure. "Let's go!"
He sped down the hills towards the sandy beach and he ran through the waves. Fiore truely believed this was the way everyone lived. On the surf and the sand and, always, in paradise.

Elzic walked about the city with Erin. While he looked for a inn, she looked for god knows what.Finally Elzic got to the inn, weary after traveling the city. He didnt have any money other than a few dollars, so he did what he does best.He drew a crowd and using his bow, shot tings like bullseyes. He bet people, and made much oney.Elzic was happy with what he accomplished. He wandered the city, partly lookin for Erin, and partly looking in shops. HE found a magnificent neclace with a dragon amulet on it. He paid for it and wore it around with himall over the city. He even found a bookshop, and decided to buy a book for No-Name, feeling he owed him. He bought a book, then continued his search for No-Name. He found Erin and told her how to get to the inn, and he would pay if she didnt have money.

As Fiore wanders along the surf, Macey walking a bit behind, he notices a strange glimmer in the water. Frowning, he stands still for a minute and stares at the waves, thinking he is hallucinating. The glimmer stays there. He turns and smiles at Macey. "Hey, I think I see something down there. I'm gonna go check it out. I should be back in a few minutes." Not waiting for a reply he runs at the beach and dives in.
Swimming through the clear blue water, Fiore searches for signs of the glittering object, but finds none. Seeing as he's not about to run out of air anytime soon, he dives down further.
As Fiore goes deeper, a large sheet of rock looms before him. It is nothing extraordinary and he starts to turn back, but something makes him hesitate. He swims closer to the rock.
A small crevice sits near one of the sides. Fiore thinks, Small Crevice= Possible treasure stash! (His mind works in mysterious ways...) He swims down and tries to go through the crevice but as he gets towards the end of the tunnel, he hits his head.
Feeling slightly woozy and knowing that he has hit a pressure point, he struggles on until he collapses on a dry surface. His last thought as his conciousness fades is that he notices he is in an underwater cave.
(OCC:This guy is seriously losing braincells by the trillions with all the passing out he does!)

No-Name sits at home, reading his book. He glances at a crystal on his table every now and again.
The crystal is but a small shard of a much larger stone that No-Name had found while inside the underwater cave.
He remembers wandering toward the glimmer, still trying to stabilize his breathing.
Something very peculiar occurred when he touched it. It felt as though he were looking at . . . memories.

"Ah, I can pay." She says with a smile. "Did you find whatever you wanted? I sure did!" She says while paying the inkeep for a room, gold coins clinking as they piled on the counter.

Macey stood there worried. He had been down there for a long time. She decided to dive in and look for him. " Here goes nothin' " she murmered to herself. She splashed in and swam deep down into the water. She had seen a small crevice, the same one Fiore had gone into. She swam into it and suddenly she couldn't see anything. She noticed she was in an underwater cave. She looked around for a minute and saw Fiore. She took him and lifted him up with her arm. She tried to wake him up, but he was knocked out cold. She didn't know what to do, she was a bit scared without Fiore to comfort her.

No-Name heard a group of voices outside muttering.
"Really. That sounds very interesting."
"Interesting? I've never such precision archery. That boy is very talented. He looks to be about ten or so."
"No ten year old can wield a bow like that. Fifteen or so, I'd say."
"FIFTEEN?!"
"What? So he's short for his age."
No-Name finds the sudden argument to be rather annoying and shuts the front door. With the curtains drawn and the door shut, the room is dark save for the glow of the crystal which seems to be brighter now.
No-Name sits by the crystal, using its glow to light the pages as he reads. Again, he can't help sparse glances.
The young man stops and stares at it a moment and then begins to reach for it. As his fingers rest on the smooth surface of the crystal, some feeling of familiarity stirs in his heart.
The crystal may not restore one's memories to his mind, but perhaps it would help his heart to remember.

Fiore stirred. His vision swam for a moment, and then he saw Macey. He blushed and grinned sheepishly. "You're always saving me." He sat up slowly and got to his feet. "Um, we probably shouldn't make any more stops. I seem to be accident prone today."

No-Name was thinking deeply about the crystal shard. He got up, shard in hand, and went outside, following the path to the beach and to the cave where he found the crystal from which he took the shard.
He needed to find out what it was. As he'd ran by, he'd snagged a fruit from a merchant and was now eating as he sauntered down the pathway.

Fiore wandered through the small gates of Shaika, pausing once he reached the enterance. He turned to Macey and smiled. "Don't worry, this is a nice town, I've been here before with my pare- the people I used to live with."

Macey smiled back at him "I'm not worried, just exhausted." They both started walking slowly into town. "So, why did you and the people you lived with used to come here?" She asked, trying to make conversation. Macey hated acward silences. "Before you answer that, do I ask to many questions?" She continued.

"Um, no," Fiore replayed, smiling. "Actually, it's a relief to have someone to talk to on a trip. "And to answer your first question," he continued, "The people I used to live with were artisians. They came here to market their goods. You might have heard of them, they were called the Kuaera?" He shrugged.
"But whether you have or not makes no difference really, they weren't who they seemed so I left. And that was a while back," he said, his melancholic tone disappating. Gesturing to a comfortable looking building a little ways down the road he smiled. "This is 'The Shore', it's an old inn, but it's cheap and comfortable. Look good to you?"

She glanced at the inn "Anyplace looks good to me right now" Macey said, looking back at him. She started rushing toward the old inn. With Fiore right behind her. "Quit slacking!" She said in a joking tone. "Oh and by the way, I never heard of Kuaera. She said answering his statement.

Elzic was doing his archery act, and making tons of money.He saw people in amazement of his skill. He started calling all around"Come see archery that will make your jaw drop. The only 12 year old know with this skill, me!People suddenly cheered louder knowing that a 12 year -old can have talents like this.After the day, Elzic went to take a swim in the ocean. What he didn't know his that a Shiger was lurking about the open watewrs at that time.Elzic began taking a swim, when he suddenly felt a change in the water's flow.Then he saw it, the sign that he was in for the struggle for his life.He had his bow, even when swimming, so he transformed it to a spear. Elzic and the shiger attacked each other at the exact same time.Elzic dodged to the right, but the shiger chomped down on his right arm. He screamed in pain, shattering that night's silence. Elzic stuck the spear though the shiger and got to the beach, leaving a trail of blood, partly from his torso, and partly from the right arm he had retrieved from the shiger. He wrapped his arm and torso his shirt he tore in 2.Then he ran to the hospital, occasionaly tripping. After he made it, the doctors told him his arm had severe nerve damage and coudnt work, then he turned to his second option, a mecha-limb. He choose one that would fit perfectly and gave the same level of ability he had with his old arm. The operation was succesful, and Elzic had 2 things engraved on his arm. 1.One <img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"> One Kill 2. I dont stop till I see my spear go through one side and out the other. After this ordeal, and snuck back into the inn, hoping Erin wouldn't see him.

Fiore walked up to the innkeep and counted out his money. "Um... 2 rooms please." The innkeep nodded and handed him two keys, Fiore grinned and thanked him, then handed a key to Macey. "Well, I'm gonna turn in, I'll see you in the morning!" He turned and headed upstairs to his room.
((OCC: Hey guys, I wanted to tell you that the characters need to meet up soon. We're kind of just wandering around in our own little worlds... :laughing: ))

"Whoa, what did'ja do to your arm?" Erin asked, spotting Elzic. "Had a fight with a monster recently or something?"

Elzic replied to Erin's question,"I was attacked by a shiger while swimming

"Ouch..." She winced. "Well, at least you're ok. Better just an arm than dead I guess." She said, fiddling with something in her hands, but never letting it out into sight.

Before he could reach the end of the beach, No-Name noticed a rather strange object on the ground. He reached down and picked it up.
This beach was never exactly popular. Is this Elzic's? No-Name wondered. He sighed and turned back. I'd better get it back to him. This'll have to wait. No-Name travels through Shaika toward the inn where he knows Elzic and his "friend" to be staying. Coincidentally, two other individuals have already checked in.

Fiore lay on his bed for a while, thinking back on his hometown of Onda and his family. He figured his sister-in-law, Suimei, would probably have had the new baby by now. He wondered how his parents were faring. He wondered why they had waited so long to tell him that he wasn't their's, that he didn't even belong in Acqua. He sighed and rolled over on his side, thinking. He put his fingers to his neck and gasped, shocked. His necklace was gone! He looked around the bedroom frantically but it was no where to be found. Fiore ran out of the room and down the stairs, searching for the only clue he had to his past.

As No-Name walked to the hotel, he examined the strange object he'd obtained at the beach. He hadn't realized the similarities it had to his own chain. Where his had a gold chain this one was silver. Where he had a silver crescent, this had a golden sun. What could it mean?
Without thinking, he rubbed his thumb across the crystal shard he still held in his other hand. He found himself reminded of the day he realized his "parents" weren't his own.

Elzic Ash

Elzic took a walk around the inn, trying to get used to the feel, or none feeling of his new arm.HE placed a target and even tried shooting with it. He thanked God, that he still had the same amount of skill. Hopefully, nobody heard the whistling of the arrows, or the deep thud as the arrows hit the target. As he took down the target, he realized an arrow was wedged in the wall.He took it out and ran as fast as he could tripping over himself in the scramble but trying to be quiet as a mouse.

Fiore ran towards the front door, not paying attention to the people around him, he was intent on finding his necklace. He collided with someone at the door and was sent sprawling. He rubbed the back of his head. "Ouch...", he said as he looked up at the person he had run into. "I'm sorry-Oh, it's you!" His eyes widened as he got to his feet.

Stretching, Erin gave a large yawn as she dropped the object into her leather bag, only a sparkle of gold any hint of what it was. She collapsed tiredly onto her bed of soft white sheets, and quickly had fallen asleep soundly.

No-Name strolled up to the inn to see Fiore talking with some girl. For a second, he swore he somehow recognized this young man and by reciprocal glance, it appeared he recognized him as well.
As he walked into the hotel, a hand came down on his arm from behind. It was the hand in which he held the gold pendant.

Fiore watched the young man incredulously until he noticed the Sorrisan mercenary behind him. "Behind you," he shouted, suprised.

No-Name freed himself of the grip and flipped backward over the merc's head.
"Hoh! You're quite agile for a prince, aren't you boy?"
No-Name stared, curious.
"Yes. I know you're a prince, THE prince, in fact, of my own Sorriso. How do I know? Because of that gold pendant of yours."
He pointed at the golden sun in No-Name's grip.

Fiore eyes widened and then he pulled out the Sorrisan sword he had earlier obtained. "Look, I have no idea what the heck you're talking about but that's my necklace!" Fiore made a clumsy swing at the mercenaries head but it was easily parried and he was forced back.

"Eh?" Erin awoke groggily to some banging outside her room. She opened the door ever so slightly, and her eyes widened at the sight. 'What.... the crap." She murmured, her left hand going to her Kodachi as she slid out from behind the door.

"I don't know who y'are, kid. But I don't make mistakes."
The merc said as he confiscated Fiore's sword.
"Well . . ." No-Name said. "It's not MY necklace. I found it on the beach."
The merc turned to No-Name and stared in surprise. He swiveled his head back and forth looking at both kids. He returned Fiore's sword.
"Aww. I see." He took the necklace from No-Name and handed it to Fiore. "Guard it well, boy."
The merc then turned to No-Name. "Let us talk."
As they walked away, their voices becoming quieter, the merc laid out his approval.
"Tis an excellent plan, my boy. I'm surprised at how cunning you are. That boy seems very loyal for a bodyguard."
"Bodyguard?"
"Yes. He was quite eager to take your place of danger as he clearly didn't trust me. He demonstrated that well."
"But he's not---"
"Well trained, I know. He's very clumsy. Overeager. Enthusiasm is good, but that kid seems a bit hyper, you think?"
"Uh."
"Well, you'd best be getting some shut-eye. We'll be heading toward Sorriso in the morning."
"What no, wait, I'm not---" Suddenly, his heart leapt in recognition of the name. The crystal shard had acted up again. "Sorriso. How are to get there?"
"Hehe. You'll see."

Fiore slid his sword into its sheath and clutched his necklace, he glanced at it, looking for any apparent damage, then he looked up at the mercenary talking to the familiar young man. He sighed and looked at Macey helplessly. Suddenly, he felt a sharp burst of heat from his necklace and almost dropped it. He looked at it incredulously, then at the young man and the mercenary. Something was not right...

No-Name parted ways with the merc and headed home for the night.
When he arrived, his home was freezing. Something was not right. As he walked through the place, he felt the cold grow. He found the source of the chill as it the growing intensity had lead him to his silver necklace, which he had taken off before heading to the beach. What's with this chill? he wondered.

Fiore had gone back to bed, he was still sweating and he wondered why the young man had left so abruptly. The heat just seemed to grow greater as he lay there and finally, he got up out of his sweat soaked sheets and left the hotel. The heat was intense, Fiore couldn't even feel the cool night breeze. He walked quickly to the beach, hoping to dunk himself in the cool ocean water and cool off. As he came closer, his body cooled and the necklace stopped throbbing. Taking it off, he winced, the heat nearly burned his hand! He felt around his neck and found a slight swelling from the heat. Glaring at the necklace sullenly, as if blaming it for all his troubles, he prepared to hurl it into the ocean. It's led to nothing but trouble the whole time I've had it anyway!

"What do you think you're doing?" The merc appeared behind Fiore.
"Boy, so help me, if you lose that pendant, I'll slice off your hands."

Macey was sitting down on her bed wondering what all just happened. She got up and quickly but quietly went out the door. She looked all over the inn to find no sign of Fiore. After pondering for some time of where Fiore's location might be. Suddenly she got up and walked out door and headed straight for the beach like something was leading her there. She quickly got there to see the merc yelling to Fiore about the necklace.
"What is going on Fiore?" She asked, a bit worried.

No-Name felt some force tugging at him. He felt the urge to walk to the beach again . . . but he was tired and decided against it. He placed his necklace on the post of his bed and quickly fell asleep.

She watched everyone leave to their different ways, though didn't relax until all had left. "Hmm... those pendants look... nah." She shrugged. "Besides, what reason do I have for stealing?" She asked herself without much care as she subconciously began to wander the inn. She didn't even notice as her hand went up to the obsidion dagger, hanging from a thin black chain around her neck.

Fiore turned to the mercenary and frowned. "Why?", he said slowly, not looking the mercenaries sword. He turned to Macey and grinned. "This guy has convolutions of the mind. He's a control freak. He's trying to boss me around because I want to get rid of this necklace." He turned to the mercenary again and frowned.
"Why is this necklace so important to you?"

The merc continued. "That pendant is the birthright of the prince of Sorriso. To throw it away would mean to destroy that very identity. I know that you do not want this. Even if carrying it may seem a heavy burden. Believe me. I too, have done regrettable things when pressed."
The merc lowers his head.

Fiore stared at the necklace in his fist incredulously. "The...birthright...", he managed to stutter out, his brain not quite managing to wrap around the seemingly impossible data.

Macey just stood there thinking to herself "What are you going to do?" By this time, she was very confused. "What was with that necklace?" She said over and over to herself. It gave her a strange feeling.

"It seems you truly are unaware of the importance of that trinket. Well, I trust you'll get over it. You'd best get to sleep. If y'all are to come with meh to Sorriso." The merc walked away a little tipsy from shear exhaustion. It seems the day has been long for the gruff man.

Fiore bowed deepsly "Uh, yes. Thank you very much, sir...", he said as he turned and grabbed Macey's arm, running as fast to the inn as he could, without making it look like he was scared of the mercenary.

The next day, No-Name rose to find the merc making him breakfast.
He jumped out of bed in shock.
"What are you doing in here!?"
The merc chuffed. "I'm making soto-eggs. What does it look like?" He moved about in a hurried manner. "We've got to have our fill and be ready quick to set off to Sorriso. We also must ensure that those friends of yours don't sleep in and slow us down."

Fiore snored loudly in his comfortable bed, clutching his necklace with his hands. He was exhausted and had had a troubled sleep in the night, that was evident in his wrecked room and his messed bed.

Erin yawns sleepily, her eyes half closed. She'd stayed up all night, watching the event unfold and, just messing around boredly. She stood outside of Fiore and Macy's room, waiting. After all, it looked like there was quite some excitement following the two. Excitement was exactly what she needed.

Macey woke up to find it bright and early. She sprung right up, for she had a good night sleep the night before. She went out the door to see Erin waiting for her and Fiore. "Oh, hello." She said with a friendly smile. "I don't think we've had the chance to talk, have we? She said as her smile had grown wider, trying to look friendly as possible.

Fiore snored even more loudly, and rolled his face over into a pillow.
(Sry they're such short posts but he's alseep and I don't really know what else he can do...)

"Ah, Hi!" She says happily, feining energy. "I don't believe we have. I'm Erin. Pleased to meet you!"

No-Name walked slowly along behind the merc, clutching his stomach while reading a book. The book was the only comfort No-Name could find. Soto-eggs have always made him sick and the merc had made him more than he'd ever had and insisted they set out immediately.
When they reached the inn, something stirred in the young man. He gripped his shirt which underneath he wore his silver necklace close to his heart. He wondered how the merc would react if he saw this necklace. The gold one has a meaning, might the silver one too?
No-Name felt an unexplained chill shortly before stepping inside.

Fiore groaned and sat up slowly in his bed. His clothing was strewn all over the room and he wore only his pants. He walked over to the window in the semi-darkness and flung it open. "AGH!!", he shrieked as the sunlight hit his eyes.

“Ack! I . . . forgot something. Be a good lad and fetch your friends for the trip, prince.” The merc said as he turned away.
“I’m no prince! . . . and they’re not really my friends.”
The merc had already left the inn by the time No-Name spoke these words.
The young man sighed and shook his head as turned the stairs. “I don’t think Elzic would want to be left here. This isn’t his nation. I guess I should invite him along.” Again? No-Name stopped in confusion, why was thinking about these people? Why did he care? He used to be so withdrawn, so recluse and he reveled in it. Why was that changing? He shook his head and dragged himself upstairs.

"Hi, my names Macey." She said to Erin with a smile.
((So much smiling xD))

"Nice name." She compliments. Hearing Fiore, she glances curiously at the door. "What was that?"

She answered the compliment "Thanks." She giggled a bit looking at Erin "Oh, thats Fiore. He must be just waking up." She stepped in front of the door and knocked on it saying "Fiore! Rise and shine!" She turned back to Erin and giggled again.

"Wow... must not be a morning person." She commented, giggling a bit as well.

As No-Name stood at the head of the stairs, his eyes on Macey and the peculiar girl, Erin, he took note of the chill in his chest coming from his necklace. What does it mean?

Feeling a strange power from her necklace, Erin automatically glanced at No-Name. "Oh, hi!" She says, a little surprised.

No-Name was curious as to what drew the girl's attention to him and he approached, extending a hand in greeting; an unusual gesture for him. As his fingers touched hers, the crystal which he now wore around his wrist, acted up again.
Words flowed into No-Name's heart. As it is that emotions are difficult to translate to speech for the mind, No-Name could only make out far and few words: necklace . . . sign . . . fate . . . threat.
No-Name twitched his hand away from her fingers and stared at the crystal. He then noticed her dagger necklace.

Seeing him look at her necklace, her hand instinctively goes to it as she quickly takes a step back. "Ow..." She murmurs, whincing in pain. Glancing at her necklace, she sees nothing difference, but the strange power is there, draining her energy. She steadied herself, putting a hand on the wall to keep herself upright.

The young man clears his throat. "You're hear with Elzic, right?"
There can't be anything important about a necklace, can there? No-Name wonders.

"Um... yeah." She shook her head quickly to clear it, before standing upright again. That was strange... my energy was sapped, but now I'm fine... She thought.

No-Name looks around this second floor. "So, which room is he staying in?" He stares at a single door in particular; blurring out the rest.

"That one." She points at a nearby door. "I'm not sure if he's in there on not though."

Inside Elzic's room, which was, in fact, empty, No-Name looked out the window to see the kid practicing with his arrows. No-Name thrust open the window and shouted down to him. "HEY KID!"

Fiore winced in pain as his necklace bit into his throat with savage heat. "OWW!! Damn...," he said as he tugged at it. Pulling his clothes on, he hopped out the door and flushed as he saw Erin and Macey. "Umm... Hey..."

"What took you so long, and what was with all that yelling?" She asked, slightly sarcastic.
((Sorry for the short replies!))

Erin cocks her head to the side, shortly before smiling. "So this is Fiore?" She asked. "I'm Erin! Pleased to meet you!"

Fiore flushed and bowed. "Um, nice to meet you Miss Erin." He straightened. "So where's that weird guy from yesterday?"

"HEY!" Elzic doesn't seem to hear as No-Name shouts.
No-Name surrenders and steps out of the room to the hall. Erin, Macey, and Fiore all stand about in a curious way.
"Hey." No-Name chuffs. "So you're, like, a prince, right?" He says to Fiore. "That merc is certain that necklace is mine. He seems unshakable." No-Name can feel the chill of his unseen necklace bite under his shirt. He shivers slightly. "Still, we're all going to Sorriso for whatever reason he's dragging us along." He turns to Erin. "I called out to Elzic, but he didn't hear me. I'm sure he doesn't want to stay here in Acqua. Would you make sure to invite him along?"
As he said this, the merc approached from the stairwell.

"So I guess that means I get to stay behind?" Erin asked, dissapointed.

Fiore grinned. "What, do you want to or something?" He turned to No-Name and frowned. "Is there something wrong man? You look... cold." He reached out to touch No-Name's shoulder and jerked back in suprise, holding his hand. "You're freezing!"

Erin cocked her head to the side. "What do you mean? It doesn't feel cold in here, and it can't be that cold outside... you'd have to be using some kind of magic to be freezing indoors..." Erin said, though not trusting herself to see exactly how cold freezing was.

No-Name's shoulder tingled after the touch and goosebumps rose beneath his shirt. He shrugged it off and began to feel the chill dissipate. A sigh of relief left him.
The merc stood awkwardly staring at the group. "Well, are y'all ready? We'd best be on the move soon."
No-Name spun on his heel. "Hey merc! What are supposed to call you, anyway? I mean, calling you merc all the time just sounds really stupid."
The merc stares in shock. "Actually, my name is Merck."
No-Name was taken aback. That was an odd name.
"Well, call me what you will, but I'd rather call you something that doesn't sound as stupid than No-Name."
No-Name glared at him. "Fine. If you don't like my 'name,' then you don't have to use it." The young man stormed down the stairwell in a rage.
"What's his problem?" The merc asked.

((*cough*PMS*cough* just kidding!))
Fiore shrugged. "He's just moody," he said slowly, then turned to Macey and Erin and smiled. "C'mon, let's go!" He ran down the stairs after No-Name.

Macey followed Fiore as he rushed down the stairs. "Fiore, what are we going to do once we get there?" She asked curiously.

Fiore turned to her and shrugged, grinning. "Whatever we want to do I guess, okay?"

Erin followed as well. "I sure as hell ain't gonna stay here." She muttered.

No-Name clutched his necklace as he recalled his denouncement of his name.
"We've been calling you Lune ever since we took you in. You never had a problem with it before."
"You call me Lune because of this?" Lune raised his necklace. "Who am I!? Where did I come from? You're not my family! So who is!?"

"Kid!"
No-Name was startled at the sound of Merck's voice. "What!?"
"What's the matter with you?"
No-Name shook his head. "How are we getting to Sorriso?"

"I dunno... I guess we could walk to a ship or something that is willing to go overseas..." Erin said, pulling out a map. "Though I heard they've been having some trouble with monsters lately..."

"Okay" She responded to Fiore's question. Macey turned and watched as the others planned on how they would get to Sorriso. She didn't know her way around very well so she thought it would be best if she didn't say anything about it. She turned to Fiore "I'm anxtious, I want to go..." She said impatiantly.

Erin follows Macey. "I know what you mean. I like to keep traveling." She says.

Macey turns to Erin and smiles. "I really hope we leave soon. Except..." Macey paused for a second "I hate traveling on ships. Isn't that the mode of transportation we're using?"

"Well how else would you expect to venture from an Island Nation?" Merck approached the group.
"I don't care." No-Name (Lune) felt uneasiness stirring about. "I'll be right back." He went out to where Elzic was practicing with his targets. "Hey kid!" No-Name grabbed the kid by the arm and dragged him back to the hotel where everyone was now waiting outside, facing the direction in which they embark toward the ship.

"What're you guys running from?", Fiore asked, grinning. He turned to Macey. "Didn't we say we'd go to Maire for an audience with the king, or do you just want to head out now for Denza?"

"I want to go where ever you go, Fiore." She responded.

"I'll just be following you guys around. I have a tendancy to stumble on adventure, and I'm pretty sure this'll be one. At least, if it isn't already."

Fiore shrugs. "An adventure, I'm just doing my civic duty and helping out a damsel in distress."

Macey's eyes widen, she turned to him "You're kidding right?!" Then she continued with a grin before he could answer "Whose the one who saved your life, not once, but twice?"

Fiore flushed. "Um..." He turned with a confident grin to the stairway. "Well, what the hell are we standing around discussing stupiud stuff for?! Let's go!" And with that, Fiore fled his embarrassment.

Erin giggled. "Nice comeback." She said, following Fiore.

Merck turned to No-Name. "So have you decided?"
No-Name stared at the estranged man in silence.
"I am no longer going to call you No-Name. Even if that means I call you 'boy."
"Lune." Said the adolescent as he followed the others. "Lune is fine."

Fiore stopped outside the inn, panting for breath. He turned and looked at the bright sunlight and smiled. "Wow, this is an awesome day to set out, huh? So, where are we going first?!" His stomach growled and he flushed.

Macey laughed "You look hungry Fiore. How about we go get some food first?" She said, being hungry herself. "Anyone know someplace we could eat at?"

Fiore flopped down in the sand and moaned. "I'm dying...", he looked pleadingly at Lune.

The man who resolved to go by No-Name for so long turned to Fiore in response to his pleading eyes. "Don't you have any money?" Lune shrugged from some happy annoyance. By the end of this, I may be someone else entirely. He thought, recalling how he'd changed in the days passed. "The port is only a mile away. They feed their passengers aboard that transport ship. If you can hold out until then, you'll be fine."

Fiore sits up in the sand and smiles. "Well, alright," he conceeds as he gets to his feet and brushes the sand off of his shorts. "Let's go then!"

Macey's let out a sigh of relief. "Next time, try not to make such a big scene." Macey giggled. As the group started toward the port, Macey and Fiore were trailing the rest of the group, being distracted by their own conversation. "It's nice to be on the move again, isn't it?" She asked with a smile.

Erin glanced at Macey and Fiore with a quick smile, playing idly with her dagger necklace.

Aboard the transport ship, Macey and Erin giggle in conversation as the gluttonous Fiore devours free meals in tandem.
Lune watches Elzic train his eye. Since his bow and arrow were confiscated by the ship authorities until such time that they reach their destination, Elzic uses eating utensils to annoy passengers. Lune shakes his head in embarrassment.
Merck sits silently across from Lune's position. "You're very mysterious, Lune. Why do you prefer to keep to yourself? You should surround yourself with friends and trustworthy comrades."
"No one is trustworthy."
Merck is quite put off by this. "Why do you say that?"
Lune stands and walks away. Unfortunately, Merck doesn't leave well enough alone and follows. As he stands near Lune, he begins to tell him a tale.
"The kingdom of Sorriso is in dire Straits, Lune."
"Why should I care?"
"It is your kingdom. That necklace Fiore has would be proof of that. Normally, a bodyguard or knight would show disdain at the thought: that some boy would possess your necklace."
Lune opens his mouth to speak, but is cut off.
"However, I am just a mercenary. It's my job to return you to your kingdom alive. Without that necklace, there is no proof of your bloodright and I can't get paid. Thus, I'll have to protect the both of you."
The merc's persistent assumption of Lune's "bloodright" makes his blood boil. In his anger, he turns to Merck to tell him off once and for all.
"Without you, Natta will run the kingdom straight into the fires of hell." Merck continues on with his incessant speech. "Of course, her son is missing as well."
Lune is suddenly interested by this statement.
"The only proof of his kinship to her is a silver pendant with a crescent moon."
Lune is wide-eyed in shock at the mention of his keepsake.
"If that boy should reach Sorriso before ye, then he will rule the kingdom in Natta's wake."
As Lune staggers dizzy in disbelief, the ship is jostled by a surge of ocean water.
The Merck shouts in confusion. "What is this? A storm?" There are no clouds and no wind. There is no thunder or lightning or rain. The sun shines brightly upon the violently rocking ship.
"It's a Kraken!!!" A member of the crew shouts.

Erin stands, knocking over her chair in her worry. "What?! A Kracken?!" She shouts, pulling out her Kodachi quickly. "This should be interesting..."

In the midst of a large array of food, Fiore was suddenly thrown violently to the floor. He began to choke and beat his chest, then got to his feet, swallowing. He chuckled. I guess that's what I get for eating too much..., he thought as he made his way towards Macey and Lune. As the monsterous creature shot up out of the sea his eyes widened. "Um... How are we going to reach that thing?" Just then, one of Elzics stray silverware missiles flew past his shoulder, missing Fiore by only a few inches. Fiore gasped and turned. "HEY!! WHAT THE HELL IS THE BIG IDEA!!" The missile struck the kraken in the eye and it thrashed around wildly, barely missing the boat with its huge tentacles. Fiore unslung his sword and grimaced, then looked at Macey. "Hey, use your crossbow!"

((OCC: Thank you all for your hardwork and help in moving along this storyline. I hope to have the first book of the trilogy finished by the end of this summer and I also need to find a publisher. Please continue to post as this does help move along the storyline. Mercen-X has truly developed the Son of Natta well and Apollo has given us a solid female character. If this does appear in print, which I know is doubtful, PLEASE do not be suprised to see changes in your characters. In fact, most names will be different aswell. Macey quickly got her crossbow out and loaded it with haste. She aimed at the other eye that hadn't already been damaged. Don't miss..., she thought to herself. She shot her crossbow, she hit it directly in the eye. She continued to shoot a bombardment of fast moving arrows to different visible parts of the Kraken's body. Soon, the Kraken started to slow down it's attacks on the ship. It's energy was starting to drain and it was starting to get a bit tired of attacking the ship and getting hit by weapons. "I think it's getting tired!" She exclaimed.

"Great!" Erin managed to shout, before running at the kracken and slashed repediately at its slick flesh. "Die d*mmit!" She said angrily, black energy swirling around her blade just as she drove it through the rubbery skin of the kracken.

Fiore watched them in awe, scared to death that he was travelling with two such dangerous females. He made a mental note never to try to peep on them and then launched himself into the air, landing beside Erin and driving his sword in at the same moment.

The creature squealed, its tentacles flailing. "Whoa!" Erin tugged at her sword, watching the tentacles worriedly.

Lune was quite distraught. That girl, Erin, to whom he felt some familarity, was fighting for the lives of everyone aboard this ship and he could not help. How could he? He had no weapon, no training, and no way to reach that Kraken if it pulled back from the ship.
Just as that thought crossed his mind, Lune noticed the Kraken, indeed, pulling away from the ship. Erin and Fiore could no longer do anything against it. Macey fired on the Kraken with greater drive.

A tentacle flew up from the sea and slapped Merck backward and almost over the port wall. The mercenary was unconscious and his sword lay at Lune's feet. He grabbed it up and shouted to Elzic. "Get your weapon. I doubt they'll deny you your bow at a time like this!"
Lune turned back to the Kraken. He considered this for a moment. What am I doing? This can't work.
Despite his reservations, he charged the starboard side and launched himself off the gunwale over the stretch of sea as arrows rained in behind him. He landed with his sword skewering into the the head of the Kraken just above its powerful beak. The monster didn't seem to notice him as it continued to fight off Macey.
Lune lifted himself atop the creature and prepared to thrust his sword down into its skull (if it had one).

"Great! More help!" She said enthusiastically, jamming her sword into the kracken's eye.

Macey ducked quickly, just barely avoiding one of the kraken's tentacals. "Jeez, this things tough!" She said to herself, continuing to hit the kraken with arrows.

Lune watched as Macey dodged about on the starboard wall as the Kraken's slimy tenticles continuously slapped at her. Erin's sword, now covered in optic-jelly from the creature's already absent eye, was swinging wildly at the horrendous.
In Lune's vain attempt to slay the beast, he had driven it back toward the ship (apparently) and was now biting at the starboard rail in attempt to devour Erin.

"Wah!" Erin fell backwards, the Kracken having clipped her shoulder with its wicked beak. "Ow.." Her left hand went to her shoulder, her right ready to slash at anything that came at her.

Fiore leapt down to where Erin was and slashed viciously at any tentacles that came near them. He looked down at her and smiled. "Are you okay?"

She slowly took her hand from her shoulder, whincing at the blood smeared over her hand. "I think it looks worse than it is... it only stings a little." She said, standing.

The Kraken shook and jostled Lune about. As the Kraken finally surrendered and began to pull away from the ship, Lune wondered how he could return.

Fiore stood up and helped Erin to her feet. "Macey? Elzic? Are you guys alright!?" The chorus of 'yes' eased his mind a little but he couldn't shake the feeling that someone was missing....
"LUNE!" the mercenary man shouted. Fiore frowned. He looked out to sea where the kraken was getting further and further from the ship. His eyes widened. On the head of the kraken stood the receeding image of a man.
"Oh my gods!", shouted Fiore (AKA Captain Obvious). "Lune's still on that kraken!!" The mercenary chuffed.
"So why are you standing here boy? Go get him!" And with that Fiore was pushed into the sea.

"Whoa!" Erin staggered, before quickly balancing herself. "WHAT'D YOU DO THAT FOR?! NOW WE'VE GOT TWO OF 'EM STUCK OFF OF THE BOAT!" She screamed at the mercenary.

Lune watched as the Kraken flicked at Fiore with one of its longer tenticles. By some miracle or horrible coincidence, Fiore landed right beside him on the Kraken's head.
Hearing a nervously chipper "Hello," Lune shook his head in slight annoyance. He turned to Fiore. "So Merck tossed you in?"

Ive been busy, its the end of the school year, and my grades aren't that great so ive been tryin to raise them.Also my sister is always on so I dont bother tryin to get on when shes on.LAstly I've been getting more active outside like playing basketball, and thats about it, but Im gonna start comin on more often.Thanks for controlling my character, and if im absent for more than 3 days at a time u may continue controlling him.



Having obatined his bow, Elzic had obtained a risky idea. As a arrow materialized, he tied a very long rope to the end of the arrow. After getting as close as possible he aimed and shot the kraken right between the eyes, while yelling "Grab on to the arrow!"

Lune shared a quick glance with Fiore and both reached for the arrow. With a sudden jerk, the arrow fell from the Kraken, despite the depth of the wound.
"Well, that worked out well."
Lune heard someone say, "Try again," and he wondered when the Kraken would finally pull under.

"Hey, just as an erratic question Lune, how long can you hold your breath?", Fiore said nonchalantly, smiling.
He shielded his eyes from the sunlight and frowned at the shrinking boat. He sighed. "Okay well... since we have no real other options, do you want to swim for it?"

After arming his bow again, he shot again.

Lune saw a look of shock appear on Fiore's face as the arrow landed in his hands.
They both stare at the arrow, curiously.
Lune looks at Merck's sword, which is still bored deep into the Kraken's skull. "The sword." If they were to tie the rope to the sword, there'd be no way it'd jolt free.
In the midst of the revelation, Lune watched as the sea level rose. The Kraken was submerging.

"Forget it! Hurry up to the ship!" Erin yelled. "Stuff can be replaced! Come on!"

Fiore looked in awe at the arrow and then at the rising water. His brain was still taking in the shock of being attacked by a Kraken so he looked around for an idea. His eyes landed on the sword embedded in the Kraken and he looked up at Lune. "Hey, why don't we use that sword?"

Though surprised that this glutton could reflect his thoughts, Lune let on no indication that they had conceived the same plan of action. He snatched the arrow out of Fiore's hand and fastened it quickly yet thoroughly to the sword.
Now how to cross. Lune thought as he realized his and Fiore's weight would surely cause the rope to sink into the water and greatly slow their escape. Lune would not trust that their companions on the boat could hold their combined weight and the pull of the Kraken.
Then, as he placed his hand on his chest, feeling the familiar chill of his pendant, an idea occurred to him.
"Fiore! Use your pendant to slide down the rope. It's on a chain, so it won't break."

Fiore looked at Lune, stunned. "My...pendant...?" He reached to his neck and held it cautiously. The Kraken began to submerge. Fiore's eyes widened and he ripped the pendant off his neck and began his descent.

As the Kraken submerged, Merck and the others expressed difficulty trying to keep hold of the rope.
Lune watched Fiore slide across the zip line. Once he was close enough to the rail of the ship, Merck and the others grabbed him as the rope fell lower.
The depth at which the Kraken now was made the angle of the rope impossible for transport. Lune considered his options. If he were to climb the rope, he would not get to the ship before Merck and the others had to release it.
In a moment of unforeseen enlightenment, Lune charged up the rope, his steps quick but careful. The others stared in awe as he made his way up to them.
Unbelievably, as the Kraken fully submerged, the sword came free, removing the rope from beneath Lune's feet. He had not yet reached close enough to the ship for anyone to grab him and he fell into the water.
Unable to swim against the Kraken's powerful undertow, Lune's time in this world seemed to be at an end.

"Crap!" She took a step towards the edge, barely refraining from jumping right in. She stopped to think. 'What are the chances of me actually helping and not being a liability?' She thought. 'Aww, heck. Screw this!' She tossed her weapons onto the ground and made a quick, shallow dive into the water, keeping her eyes open through the sting of the salt in a desperate attempt to see Lune. She swam over to him, grabbing the sinking rope as she went. She reached him and tied it around his arm tightly, tugging on it and hoping the others would pull them in.

Elzic felt a tug on it, possibly one of the overboard companions. Withall his strenth he tried to pull the rope and reel them in.

Lune was catatonic as he and Erin were hefted up along the side of the ship.
Merck sighed in relief as Elzic and Fiore dragged the two aboard.
"Thank the stars. That boy is worth too much to lose."

"Yeah, real great. I'm sure it would've been hard if I'd gone overboard and not him." Erin said sarcastically. "Are we near land? 'Cause if not, I'm gonna go dry off."

A crew member announces in a shout that the ship will need to detour to a more remote destination for repairs.

The ship docks at Denza within an hour.

As everyone departs from the now docked ship, Lune watches Elzic carry Erin along on his back. She yawns drowzily.
Amazing. The two barely met yesterday. How quickly they behave as . . . siblings.
Macey and Fiore assist Merck, who is forced to walk with a limp due to an injury at his thigh.
Lune wanders off along this foreign land. It's vast, barren, and hot. The arid dryness is disturbing. Surprisingly, Lune does not miss the whether at Acqua.

Fiore stared silently at the barren land that yawned before him. He supressed a slight sudder before stepping off the plank onto the sand. A little ways away, he could see the town. He looked over and Elzic carrying Erin and smiled, then stretched. "That was tiring."

As Lune progresses farther away from town, he realizes it is getting hotter and hotter. He starts to feel dizzy and a staggers about. Suddenly, he can feel the chill from his pendant. He pulls it out and looks at it.
So, lunar pendant. What do you mean? What is your significance?
He looks out onto the water. The moon's gravity controls many natural phenomena on this world. Perhaps . . .
He raises his pendant skyward.

(Actually it's Erika spelled backwards... I do that alot :fpsweat: )) As Fiore followed Erin and Elzic into town, he suddenly noticed that someone was missing. "Where did Lune go?", he asked.

Lune watches as the sky above swirls with the birth of storm clouds. Within seconds, a light drizzle moistens his skin, soothing his overheated body. He puts the necklace away and watches as the clouds slowly disperse. He turns slightly, looking back at the town.

Yuki side-stepped and tapped the man (Lune) on the opposite shoulder from the way he was looking.
"Hello, good sir. My name is Yuki and I was wondering, since it looks as if you came from that direction, if that town over there has any great significance. I would greatly appreciate it."
The ninja just stood there for a minute, waiting to see the man next move. Hmm... probably shy. I wonder if he even payed attention to the town and why hes here. ...

Fiore sighed and stretched as the rain began to fall. "That feels great," he said, yawning. He turned to Erin and Elzic who had paused, enjoying the rain. He grinned and handed them some gold. "I'm going to look for Lune," he said, "get a room at the inn, I'll be back soon." And with that he turned and ran off into the desert.

"You're not from that town?" Lune asked suspiciously. "What are doing out in the desert?" Though anxious at the thought this man may have witnessed the power of his necklace, Lune held his thoughts and did not show emotion.

"I was just passing through this here desert!" He flashed a weak smile. Hmm... his necklace is shiney, I wonder how much it would sell for :P O.o. ...Errr... dammit I think of the stupidest things!Yuki saw the look on the other mans face.
"Yeah, I came from the other side, yes. The heat doesn't really bother me. I've trained against it. well, since you are not going to give me any answers, I shall head off there to find out myself!" With this, he turned around smartly and walked dignently(sp?) towards the town.

"Okay... I guess." Erin watched Fiore leave, a curious expresion on her face. "Though I DO have enough money to... never mind." She said, with a shrug, going into the town. "Someone else's money being used is better than my own!"

Fiore ran into the desert and stopped, suddenly realizing that he had no idea which way Lune had gone. He sighed and started forward, then stopped as he saw a black-clad figure heading towards him.

As Lune proceeded to stair off into the sky, he almost forgot he was in a desert. He glanced back toward town and was able to make out Fiore meeting up with that weird nomad.

I hope he's not some kind of weird rapist... Fiore thought as the man approached him.

He'd better hope he's not some weird rapist... Lune thought. I'd better head over. He sighed as he dragged himself along.

((Just to let everyone know, a site is supposed to be set up for my story soon, I don't really know why it happened late last night and my bleary eyes couldn't make anything out.... I think it has something to do with bbomber72000.... yeah... so anyway, I'll try to update you on it eventually! :fpenerg:))
Fiore yawned and looked up at the rain clouds that were starting to clear away. That was so sudden, I wonder if it's always like that in Denza...

After going into town with Erin, Elzic started to look for the inn.After finding it, he rented a room, and went to get some food.

"Boy, I hope he brings the food back soon." Erin sighed, plopping down on the bed. "I'm starving. I'd eat anything, including sea food." She made a face.

After finding a store and getting some water and chicken, Elzic went back to the inn and started cooking the food.

Lune followed Yuki and Fiore as they headed for the port town. Funny. They still hadn't learned it's name and here they were parading around like tourists.

Once in town, Fiore and Yuki separated. Apparently, Yuki learned of something about this town that interested him. Lune and Fiore then found the inn and to the room in which Elzic was cooking up a storm.
"You cook, kid?!" Lune shouted over the loud sizzling of grilling meats and vegetables. He also noticed a pot of boiling water. Is he preparing a feast? Who would've known this brat had any talent beyond his marksmanship and natural bad luck?
As Lune sat down opposite Erin, he noticed that someone was missing.

EDIT - Okay, Macey is from Denza, not Elzic. ^_^

Holy frelling crap Kamiko!! It's gonna take me forever to download this onto my computer!! *panics and runs in circles*

Elzic shouted back over the sizzling of the scrumptious mouth watering meats. Elzic took out a arrow to be fancy and started cutting the vegetables. He asled if someone would go to the store and get some spices while he was cooking.

"Where is . . . uh . . . Macey?" Was that her name? "Where is that girl?"

"She died?" Yuki shrugged. "Sorry, just a joke. I smelled something good, and i was hoping to see what it was." He sat down at the bar then looked hungrily at food before looking back at Lune.

"I see we meet again. I did find a little of what I was looking for, but its going to be hard to get to. Now, whats the chances of me getting some food?" The man looks back at Elzic pleadingly. "I'm starved! The desert is a beast, I tell you what!"

"Um... I'll go get the spices." Erin volunteered, eyeing the newcomer. Where the heck did he come from? she thought. "I'll be back soon!" She said, leaving the room. A hot blast of heat hit her, and she stood for a while until she was used to it. She then went through the bustling streets, searching for a place where one might find spices.

Fiore glanced around and shrugged. "Maybe she went home. She seemed kind of frayed from the stuff already. She might have just left."

"Home? Where? Here in Denza?"

The (very sexy XD) ninja sat there listening to the mindless chitter chatter of the girly-men (jklol). Hmmm... I wonder how I can get it? Is there anything protecting it besides Him? Oh well. I suppose not.

"What is he? cooking anyways? And you can't just leave food on then walk off?"

Fiore nodded. "Yeah, Macey's from Denza. Didn't you know?"

((I'm so sorry for not posting in this for so long. ^_^;; I really don't have an exuse so all I ask is for forgiveness. Again, sorry for the inconvinece(sp?)))

Macey looked around town the town wow, this place has changed... you wouldn't even know it was attacked...She thought. Macey, went to where her home used to be, her heart was racing. She arrived at the property, and there it was, the huge pile of ashes she left behind after the attack. She almost started to cry, but she held it back as there were people around and she didn't want to make a fool of herself. I wonder why they haven't built anything over this yet? She thought to herself.

She started to head back where she last saw Fiore and the others, she hoped that she didn't worry them.

Lune decides to explore the town, he grabs a breadroll and heads out. I must learn why Macey seems so familiar.

Macey was near the inn where she last saw the others. She looked around but she didn't see any of them. Macey sighed Man I'm kinda tired... She didn't feel like going to sleep so she decided to look around town a bit more.

(Yeah, I didn't notice it at first, but now: inconience - i n c o n v e n i e n c e - inconvenience, I win the spelling bee!! *beep*)

What a boring town. Lune thought as he continued to eat. I should have brought my book.

Hey, isn't that that Lune person? she thought. She walked toward him. "Hey, um, Lune? Do you know where Fiore and the others are?" She said, nervously, since this was was the first time she talked to him directly.

Lune wasn't paying a whole lot of attention. He began to talk with his mouth full. "Sere axiom, uh, se ho-" the muffled sentence was cut short by the realization he was talking to Macey. He swallowed and asked her, "Have you ever been to Acqua? You know, before you met Fiore."

"Hey!" Erin knocked on the door of the room rather loudly. "I got the spices!"

"Toss them over here" Elzic said trying to cook and speak.As soon as he got the spices, He served the meal.

Erin tasted some of the food. "Wow. I'm not a food coniassiure or whatever, but this is good!" She said with a look of mild surprise.

Macey stood there in thought before she answered Lune's question. "Yes, when I was about 13 years old I came here with my parents and sister for vacation." She told him. And I remember it being one of the scariest times of my life she thought, and began to feel uneasy and squirmed. "But, why do you ask?" She said, faking a smile.

So she has been to Acqua before . . . but, that's not . . . I have no memory of ever meeting her there. Why is she so familiar? Lune shakes his head. "Never mind. As I was trying to say earlier, the others are probably finishing up their meals in a room at the hotel in the center of town."

"Okay, thank you." She said, smiling at him, then, turning around and walked back to the inn, still feeling a bit uneasy.

Well, now what? The town's boring, but I don't really feel like being in the room and talking to Fiore and the others. Lune sighs and follows after Macey.

"Why thank you" Elzic said to Erin

Lune follows Macey into the room and looks over at Yuki. "What are you still doing here? Don't you have anything better to do than invade our room and bug us?" Especially given that we have no reason to trust you.

"No problem." Erin replied, glancing at Yuki curiously.

I sit down and feign boredom while staring off into "space." I keep of sliver of my sight on Yuki, wondering what motivates him to invade their company.

Fiore yawns and lays down in the sand next to Lune. "So..." he says, grinning at Macey, " I guess we need to head um, to the capital now, right?"

The ninja sat there quietly to himself eating. He could feel everybody's eyes pressing on him, as if their hawklike gaze was peircing through his soul. Finally he couldn't take it anymore.

"For @#$%'s sake! Stop staring at a man while hes eating! Geez..... .... Oh, I'm awefully sorry. You just made me so uncomfortable (sp?)." Yuki sighed. Way to go you moron. Snap at them like that and you really aren't gonna get it! After taking a few more bites, and seing that people wern't staring as bad now, he spoke up again. "I just wanted to try and make nice with all of you. Why do you all seem to have a stick up your @$$ when I'm around? It's quite upsetting. You can trust me. Honestly. I just wanted to travel with you guys."

Yuki took another couple bites. He didn't feel the tenseness of the atmosphere go down any, but the disbeleif seem to go up. He sighed again. "Really. You know", he said on a much lighter note. "I'm still in training. I know you guys are travelling for some reason and you guys are going to come across a lot of monsters. I just want some experience. Then when I have it, I'll go back to my dojo. So what do you say? Can I come along?"

Erin had jumped when the ninja had exclaimed, not having even looked at him. "Um, I don't have much of a problem if you come along I guess..." She said when he was through talking.

"Sure, you can come with us, you'll be a bit if help."

"Am I the only one who thinks it strange this ninja strolled into our room from the desert and began to eat our food?" Lune shakes his head and stands up. "I'll be outside, waiting when we're ready to go."

Fiore stared at the ninja a bit longer, oblivious. Then he slowly awakened from his comatose state and sat up. "Um..." he said, ruffling his hair. "Can we leave now?"

As everyone exits the inn, Lune eyes Yuki suspiciously.
"So Fiore, you apparently know this place quite well. Where is this capital and why are heading there?"

Fiore sighes. "The capital is on Mt. Janos. We're going there to help repel the invaders from Denza. We need to stock up on supplies before we go, considering that we'll be traversing across the Wastelands for the next 10 days. At least."

Ten days. I suppose Merck will stay here at port. This may give me the opportunity I need to learn more about the Lunar Lock.
"Well, we have no idea when the ship will be repaired. That hideous sea-beast did quite a lot of damage in its attack."

"It wasn't that ugly," Fiore replied, examining his golden necklace.
He glanced at Lune and smiled. "You had fun, just admit it."

Lune pauses a moment. ". . . let's head out."

"Jeeze, what did I get myself into?" Erin muttered, putting away her plate.

(( Just so I'm sure, is everybody making sure to read the previous posts completely before posting? It isn't good to skim and get a general idea of what's going on. Numerous mistakes have occurred in many an RPG I've been a part of because of writers who didn't pay attention to the story. I have seen the mistakes in this "RP" as well. ))

"Well, thank you guys very much for allowing me to accompany you on this voyage. I am very grateful." The ninja looked from one person to another until his eyes rested on Lune. Yuki gave him an empty look then looked back around to Fiore.

"I assume that the Wastelands are nothing pretty. Therefore, I shall be needing to sharpen my katana every chance I get. Don't want to be Dilly-Dallying, eh? I'll go make some more smoke bombs why you guys are gathering your things. Should take me but a second and they are deadly usefull." Yuki flashed a weak smile then went to see a trader about supplies.

((Listen, guys. Inserting little tidbits is fine when you're a regular. But when you hardly show up, you're next post should generally get to the point. No more dilly-dallying indeed. I'm inserting a fast-forward 'cause this little port town is boring. And don't blame me for not doing it sooner either. It shouldn't be my responsibility.))

Miles in the stretch of the Wastelands, Lune turns to Fiore. "Are you sure we're going in the right direction?"

((Yuki, if you can't learn to spell, I'm sending you a virus and I don't care if you are on the library computers))
Fiore frowned and opened up the bright pink map he had bought from the cross-dressing trader. "Umm...", he said slowly, turning it from side to side.
He grinned, embarrassed. "Well, it's hard to tell, seeing as there ARE no landmarks or roads. We haven't seen ANYONE for the past few days and our food supplies are running low so we've had to RATION them which makes it hard for me to concentrate. So it's all the ninja's fault!"
Fiore flushed. "Well, maybe not. But these conditions are impossible. Don't we have some kind of mage or something to transport us more quickly?"

"What do you think this is, a game? This isn't playtime, we're in a desert. A mage." Lune shakes his head, then glances over at Erin. He remembered her clutching her pendant numerous times. No. Don't think it. It's but a mere trinket. Doubtful it would possess the magical properties of my lock. Though he tried to resign himself to thoughts unrelated, he couldn't help but wonder.
Lune turned to Macey with the question. "Denza's your home, right? You should know the way . . . shouldn't you?"

Macey glanced over at Lune "Yeah, I know this Denza like the back of my hand." She said. "Well, this part of Denza anyway," She paused for a moment. "my family never did much traveling, but I'll help anyway I can."

The sand shifted beneath Lune's feet. A large scorpion rose and brought its venomous tail to bear.
"What the hell is this!?" He shouted. Many more scorpions rose from the ground and prepared to attack the group.
Lune drew out Merck's sword in defense. "Vile creatures! I'll not be made a victim!"

Fiore eyed the scorpians and smiled casually. "Oh those are the non-venomous ones, right Mace? The Sand Serpents usually follow them though," he said, frowning and shading his eyes at what appeared to be a giant dust storm heading towards them.
It moved faster than anyone would have believed possible and in a moment, they were in the middle of a whirling sand tornado. Surrounding them were 5 curvy figures, almost impossible to see through the sand.
Their dark, curly hair whipped around their faces as they conversed in their hissing tongue, then suddenly then wind died down. A tall, buxom woman stepped forward, her slitted golden eyes watching them cautiously. " I am Neshaz," she hissed, "Why do you intrude so close to our home?"

((weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!jk i was hoping someone would hurry up and progress. im just following.))

Yuki looked up at the woman. Dude, wtf?! She stole my magic trick!!! Nuh uh!
"Okay lady. So we're on your turf? What of it?! We're just passing through, no harm. But if you get in our way, then much harm you shall recieve!"

((ok, short, ich weiß, but i want to see what your reactions are before i do anything too bold))

Lune looked at Yuki, shocked. Well, if he didn't do it, then Elzic would have. The two of them are too alike for their own good.
Lune looked questioningly at Macey. "So . . . Mace. Are these . . . things, new to this area?" As his nerves took hold, he felt his chain grow cold again.

Erin looked at the creature, her eyes widening slightly. Her hand automatically went up to her throat. "Ummm.... I'm sorry if we intruded..." She said. "And I apologize for my friend as well. You see, we're just travelers. We got kinda lost and had no idea we were even close to your home. Please forgive us." She bowed politely. Maybe if we don't threaten her, she'll help us out She thought, her hand not leaving the pendant.

Fiore watched nervously as Neshaz smiled, revealing a forked tongue and two sharp incisors. "What are your names, travelers?", she said, her threatening hiss dropping to a low, soothing noise.
Fiore looked around him, noticing that they were completely surrounded. He tugged on Lune's arm. "I think it would be better to do as they say," he murmered.

Lune sheathed his sword and stepped boldly to the fore of the group. "I am Lune, resident of the islands of Acqua." He bowed slightly. "My adherent here is Fiore. The two young ladies are Macey and Erin. The hunter is Elzic." Lune glanced the nomad out of the corner of his eye. ". . . and the straggler is Yuki. He and Macey are natives of Denza. The rest of us are simply visitors." He finished and stared into the Sand Serpent's eyes.

Fiore frowned at his title but stepped forward anyway. Neshaz's eyes narrowed. "You still have not told me why precisely you trespass mortals!"

"Like I said before, we had no idea, nor intention, of disturbing or trespassing you or your land. We ask that you might forgive us, and perhaps point us in the right direction. We are actually quite hopelessly lost." She fingered her necklace, becoming bolder with every word.

Neshaz calmed down slightly and smiled, which was somehow even more terrifying than her scowls.
"Which direction do you wish to go in, humans?"
"To Mirador, the capital of Denza," Fiore said quietly.

Lune normally couldn't stand being in the presence of such frailty as Fiore. However, he now felt some urge to defend him . . . if only from his own fear. "Do you intend to aid us?" Or kill us? No matter. Any attempt on our lives and I'll skin their hides. Lune winced. That was new. He'd never thought so violently before . . .
. . . or had he? Perhaps his pendant could unlock more than the secret of his lineage. Merck said, I was the son of Nappa. Does that mean I am destined for tyrany? He stared coldly at Nashaz.

((Fiore's a crybaby, get over it. :fpton: ))
Neshaz smiled and gestured to the other sand serpents. "You're in luck," she hissed, "We were just on our way there now to visit the Prince Brennen and his sisters in the Citadel of Fire. We will accompany you to Mirador."
Fiore smiled. "Brennen? You mean one of the Wielders right? I've heard of him."

As the group travels along, Lune stays near Fiore. "So, what the hex is a Wielder?"
