Erased my file (ff2) (whimper whimper)

Not a few day into ( and pretty far in) I started a new file. When I went to save, I accidentally overwrote my file. :confused:

This is why I always have two-three save slots per "game".

Yes, that is a very good idea. I have atleast two saves per game, and overwrite the oldest each time I save. It also prevents data loss in case you got a power failure while saving.

Ouch. You have my sympathy.
If it makes you feel any better, i managed to erase Soul of Rebirth on the GBA.
