though, are we alone through circumstances we aren't aware of and therefore can't change, or are we alone because we choose to be (refers to the hair over the eyes)?

I get feelings of cold, uncomfortable, scared (from the open mouth and hunched up shoulder) and all in all not having great fun from this picture. but is it choice? hmmmm....
