Seriously, I don't know how that site is (Got the link from a friend), I can't say I find it vey serious given things like "Commie-Free Zone in La-La Land", "Bush Won't Testify Alone, but Neither Did Clinton", but still...
...does someone feel like they can agree with this piece of crap? Supposedly called article, more like a very absurd piece of irrationally probably written under the effects of some kind of hallucinogen mushroom mixed with vodka and aspirines, watching a Monty Python movie while hanging upside down getting spanked by some dominatrix dressed in a racoon suit that shouts in a dialect between guarani and russian while breathing fire. And I could go on, but you more or less guess what I mean.
Now, seriously, this whole thing was posted in a Spanish forum, along with an article that talked about a campaign wanting to boicot Spanish products, including "burritos" and "nachos". Now, seriously, we all know the whole freedom fries and liberty toast was terribly stupid, but a burrito boicot because of Spain leaving the war is more like the summum of idiocy. I feel sorry those little people are giving such a bad image of USA in Spain. At this rate everyone will start believing the whole "red neck" stereotype as a general rule, or something. The Captain 04-29-2004, 01:51 AM Wow, it seems that our culture is going backwards rather than making progress.
Take care all. Shadow Nexus 04-29-2004, 02:07 AM Don't worry man, USA is not the only country facing such a problem. Ah, one online tabloid hardly represents our culture. A few nutjobs ranting about something or other don't degrade civilization. Now, when the nutjobs start AGREEING with what's goin' on, THAT's when we should worry. I agree, the radicals in the world have the loudest voice, but they don't represent everyone. And if some American guy decides not to buy Spanish products, why do you even care? People can buy whatever they want.
So far as all that babbling about socialism, I have no idea what the guy is talking about. fire_of_avalon 04-29-2004, 03:58 AM Besides, burritos and nachos aren't even Spanish foods, are they?
Anyways, ignore that. It's pointless and baseless and just some random screaming from the peanut gallery. Shadow Nexus 04-29-2004, 07:26 PM Besides, burritos and nachos aren't even Spanish foods, are they?
Nope, thats the best part :D
And if some American guy decides not to buy Spanish products, why do you even care? People can buy whatever they want.
I don't care, I just find it silly.
So far as all that babbling about socialism, I have no idea what the guy is talking about.
It's the best part of the article, really:
The deposed Soviet Socialists have never gotten over their failure and are hoping to regain power in Russia to once more be powerful against the United States."
Yes, it's THEIR SECRET PLAN!!! Does someone remember that Simpsons episode where the Soviet Union returns all of a sudden? Same thing!
Fidel Castro is a socialist enemy of the U.S., President Chavez of Venezuela is another socialist enemy of the United States. So it is only natural that Spain's new Prime Minister socialist Jose Zapatero does not want to help the U.S. in its fight against terrorism and pulled out Spain's troops from Iraq
OK, so he compares Zapatero to Fidel and Chavez. Uh...they have like..nothing to do with each other. Zapatero is a moderate social democrat, Fidel is a so called communist leader that speaks very well and is a megalomaniac, and Chavez is...an ape.
China is a huge socialist country bigger than the Soviet Union and it is busy using U.S. trade profits to buy attack submarines, tanks, planes and other war equipment from Russia.
...yes, very socialist but with classes and right to private property. Actually, China seems to combine the worst of everything.
It looks as if China is preparing for war buying attack submarines and other war equipment.
*suspense music*
CONSPIRATION
And my favourite part!!!
Chinese Defense Minister General Chi Haotian said publicly: "War [with the United States] is inevitable; we cannot avoid it. The issue is that the Chinese armed forces must control the initiative in this war. We must be prepared to fight for one year, two years or even longer." [Newsmax 4-9-2001].
Really? Well, taking a quote like that, I can make something similar. Just add the eliptic referent in parentesis based on your preferences. Example:
"Listen to the night, more inmense without her [his sheep]"
-Pablo Neruda, Poem XX, "20 poemas de amor y una canción desesperada"
Conclusion: Neruda is into bestiality.
Hah-HA! I'm a genious! Darlon 04-29-2004, 08:25 PM This....can't....be....real!
Boycott Spain because they didn't help the U.S.?!?! This Wilson C. Lucom guy has no idea what he is saying. This line "you are either with us or against us in our fight against terrorism" is really getting old.
"Fidel Castro is a socialist enemy of the U.S., President Chavez of Venezuela is another socialist enemy of the United States."
Is there anyone whos NOT a socialist enemy?
"So it is only natural that Spain's new Prime Minister socialist Jose Zapatero does not want to help the U.S. in its fight against terrorism and pulled out Spain's troops from Iraq"
so its only natural to hate someone just because they don't want to help the U.S.??? THeres something wrong here.
Is this guy serious? Or is this some sick joke? Doomgaze 04-29-2004, 10:12 PM NewsMax is about as trustworthy of a news site as the Weekly World News. Don't worry about it. Darlon 04-29-2004, 10:37 PM NewsMax is about as trustworthy of a news site as the Weekly World News. Don't worry about it.
I'll try not to worry, besides, I rarely listen to the news anyway :) Ouch! 04-29-2004, 11:40 PM Tabloid or not, this guy is an idiot. Did he even pass second grade English? His journalistic skills are atrocious. One more raving lunatic to add to the bunch. Doc Sark 04-29-2004, 11:48 PM I agree with you there Zaphier. We are not reading the work of a well respected and experienced journalist. We are reading absolute crap.
"China still wants to rule the world as a Socialist World"
Right, not only does that read terribly, its totally false. Definitely not worth worrying about. Strider 04-30-2004, 01:53 AM What everyone else said.
And besides, Spain rocks. I'd go back there again in a hearbeat, if I had the chance. DocFrance 04-30-2004, 02:33 AM Why do some people act as if some extremist's ramblings are going to become next week's foreign policy? It's just some jerk with too much time on his hands.
So what? Just ignore him, and he'll go away. Big D 04-30-2004, 06:55 AM For every rambling extremist like this, there's another one who's saying that the US is owned by Satan and wants to enslave the world to put everyone on intravenous Coke while genetically altering their bodies to produce oil.
Just laugh at this imbecile, let him be deluded and national socialistic, and be glad that he's merely submitting his scribblings to an internet tabloid with no genuine authority.
Really, that column would've been amusing if he wasn't so sickeningly serious. Shadow Nexus 04-30-2004, 10:49 AM But it's just fun to laugh at him!
Seriously, I can't believe people get paid for blaberring that crap, I seriously believe it would be a great idea to make a printer capable of printing such articles over toilet paper. I'd buy it.
And besides, Spain rocks. I'd go back there again in a hearbeat, if I had the chance
It does?
Well, it has good things, but very well hidden.
This line "you are either with us or against us in our fight against terrorism" is really getting old.
And ilogical, it seems as if there is only two positions existing, those who are with the US and those who are terrorist. Does that make me a terrorist, or do I support Bush? I still don't know, I disagree with both positions, ergo...I don't exist.
For every rambling extremist like this, there's another one who's saying that the US is owned by Satan and wants to enslave the world to put everyone on intravenous Coke while genetically altering their bodies to produce oil.
Oh, yeah, this reminds me of...
www.godhatesfags.com
With that guy saying God punished USA with 11-S because they tolerate homosexuals and wont condemn them to death, and shows pics of children holding signs where "Thanks God for 11-S" is read. You know, I'd like to have a debate with that Phelps guy. Not because I believe debate is possible, but just because listening to that guy speak must be some kind of comical show. And plus, my ego would go up, and I'd Feel Superior :D Yeah...what Bush says is the way you must think, and if you don't you're an anti-american. If you have your own thoughts and opinions, are a free thinker, and don't want to got bomb up the entire middle east, your an anti-american...yeah, I've heard it all before.
And this brings me to something else. I cannot stand the "black and white" logic. By this I mean, "if you're not one thing then you're obviously the opposite". Since living here I've met nothing but people like that...ugh. :eep: nik0tine 06-21-2004, 06:20 AM i do not support the furhur's err i mean teh presidents war on terrorism. i am not with him. maybe i should boycott myself.
this article is great! its the american way! doing things out of spite to people who dont agree with you until they do agree. now those are values i sure can uphold!
...what bs... DocFrance 06-21-2004, 06:28 AM this article is great! its the american way! doing things out of spite to people who dont agree with you until they do agree. now those are values i sure can uphold!
...what bs...
I don't get this. Are you complaining that people are expressing their opinions through action? 'Cause that's what I get from your post.
And yes, freedom of expression is certainly a value that anyone should uphold. |
