-Verse 1-
I whispered quietly to the waves
Seeking their age old wisdom
Though they kept their simple pattern
And whispered little in return
And then, as an outcast
I sang to the stars
Hoping they’d hear my prayer
But it was not them who answered
For as a lonely
Lost at sea
I sought only a way home
Though knew not where to look
-Chorus-
My eyes knew not where to look
And my feet didn’t know where to go
I could only follow my heart
Down the path it chose to show
-Verse 2-
I let open the sails
For the wind taking me wherever it might go
Leading me the lost
Deeper into the waters wide
The boat seemed to row itself
Where I told it not to go
The rows pushing forth
Toward islands never seen before
Then on the beach I stood standing still
Marveling at a motionless world
Though I could not stay there for long I knew
For some day I would have to continue on
(To Chorus)
-Closing Verse (3)-
I whispered quietly to the waves
Seeking their age old wisdom
Though they kept their simple pattern
And whispered little in return
I whispered quietly to the waves
Seeking their age old wisdom
Though they kept their simple pattern
And whispered little in return
And then, as an outcast
