[S?] question about FF1 fanfic...

Self explanatory. I have a definite idea of my characters' physical appearance, but I'm wondering if, at the beginning of the first chapter, I should introduce the characters and their physical descriptions right away, or reveal it as the story progresses?

I know that my characters should have a backstory, but I wonder if Garland should also have one since he's the primary villain?

If anyone else here is familiar with German, would it be a good idea to use German for Lefeinish since it's so closely related to English?
