[p] yet another poem from eestlinc

everything happens so
fast it feels slow like
running underwater or
with weighted legs and
the mind misses one
decimal place throwing
the whole equation out
the window and next thing
you know it's the ditch
the side of the road upside
down looking above to the
ground you find the roof and
bloom with his bowler hat and
glasses his spine ripped with
dirt in the wound and at once
you see he has taken your blow
suffered your pain governor
bloom on the phone at the
eleventh hour welcoming you
back into the living world

days later seeing the damage
wondering how everything was
shredded save yourself you
reach through what was once
a window and pick up the
torn book promising yourself
you will actually read it all
even oxen of the sun and penelope

Some people may look at this piece of work and call it 'weird'-in my opinion it's weird in a very good way. SO in other words its very unique-a job very well done!:) If you said that really fast I bet it would be pretty cool! Dark yet captivating in a mysterious way.

chionos, do you mean governor bloom makes you stumble rhythmically or conceptually? rhytmically i had in mind four consecutive equal accents.

Considering the mad rampage that is typical in your poems, I've never found problems with your rhythm as such. Main conceptual problems.

well, Bloom is Leopold Bloom, the main character in Ulysses, and his hat and glasses are on the cover. the image of the governor calling to commute a death sentence is possibly not that effective.

Nice imagery there! "oxen of the sun" wow :)
