a good prophecy is told
far enough in advance to
be forgotten at the crucial
juncture perhaps out of
anticipation one reads the
last page first as if this
will make the proper arrival
at endpoint that much more
fulfilling one demands to
know the destination
beforehand as if such
knowledge actually mattered
as if mapless flotsam might
ride the Mississippi to
China as if the author might
revise the final chapter as
if foresight could prevent
the inevitable a good prophecy
involves a blind old man
righteous indignation and
spiritual depantsing as we
stand helplessly naked
before our future selves

thanks. :D

Leeza has suggested "spiritual depantsing" should be the title, whereas Calliope says the title should be even longer than the poem. Wouldn't that make the title a poem in itself? I suppose the praying mantis does devour her young.

Never seen your writing before until now. Very well done. I loved the spiritual depantsing part, really gave me a grin

yea, they deleted all my old poetry threads even though i asked nicely

i post them in my livejournal, but you'd have to wade through tons of entries to find them. i should just upload them to my website for people to look at. maybe i will once i find my ftp password.
