Immortal
The river of eternity flows,
Creating the sands of time,
And for all anyone knows,
It could be a crime,
To have immortality,
And outlive the world around you,
To live long enough to realize reality,
To see this world,
Through an immortal's eyes,
Is where the truth be told,
That the pure blue will not remain in the heavenly skys,
That the summers will get cold,
And the winter will lose it's cool white snow,
And turn the color of blood,
That the trees will refuse to grow,
That the rains will only bring the cold darkness of mud,
And all will be lost,
Pushed into the river of eternity by the sands of time,

But the lonely immortal will remain,
As they were spared by time's flow,
They will live to see another's reign,
And they will know,
The new creature's fate along with the ones to come,
But they will never know what their own fate will be,
But they will watch as the dead add to a larger sum,
Than the living and the free,

Would you want to live a life like this?
Never knowing what death hides within,
What is thought to be the purest bliss,
Is only the purest sin,
So search all you want, mortals,
For the river of of eternity and "bliss,"
But do you really want to join the immortals?
Even after you hear all this?
Well, I was like you once before,
Power hungry and blind,
Always finding power and always wanting more,
The river of eternity isn't all that you expect to find,
You bathe in it's waters and never age,
Your forever stuck in this living hell,
Trapped in the cage,
Of immortality and reality,
Hanging over the fires of the truths you can't tell,
All because of the river of eternity,

So now that I have passed on the truth,
You now stand in the conviction booth,
Which path will you choose?
What can you afford to lose?
Choose your path with your heart,
And you and your sanity shall never part,

So now that I have passed on the secrets of the river of eternity,
I turn my back on reality,
And eternity rises from the river,
In a form that makes me shiver,
A black mass of nightmare and shadows,
Rises from the river's shallows,
And as eternity rears it's ugly head,
I walk where it dares not tread,
To the realm between the darkness and the light,
All reality fades from my sight,
And let it give way to illusion,
Let it bring my eternity's downfall through confusion,
And let me be set free,
To follow the path of light I found within me.
