Hidden Bosses

So if i got it, there are no hidden bosses in FF6 besides the 8 dragons and doom gaze??? cause they ain't much of a challenge...

i know everyone's saying the guy in the cave in the veldt is talking about the brachosaur, but i mean... once we beat the brachosaur he keeps coming back and the guy keeps saying the same old thing. so anyone found something, like a proof or anything else about this? i want a tough boss! kefka is just too easy

That's why it's a dinosaur forest, man. There's lots of dinosaurs there.

Since you can go to Kefka's Tower as soon as you get the Falcon, most of the things to do in the World of Ruin are, in fact, optional. That makes Humbaba (Phunbaba), Sueño, Sogno, and Revê (Larry, Curly, and Moe), Alex Soul (WrexSoul), Behemoth King (Sr. Behemoth), Chadarnook, Magi Master, Vrigarmandah (Tritoch), Yeti, Hidon, Deathguise (Doomgaze), and of course, the Eight Dragons, completely optional. And inside the tower, Ultima Buster (Atma) is optional as well.

i know i know... but i mean... wouldn't it be great to have a boss that would ask us better than casting ultima over and over? you know like with a whole lot of hp and things like that... i mean... the guy in the cave in the veldt gave me some hope, but i never found what he was talking about. and if it REALLY is the brachosaur he's talking about, it's kinda deceiving...

what was his exact question? remember you can steal a ribbon from them (locke w/ offering and thiefglove works good) and they randomly drop economizers
not to mention they give you a boatload of exp and magic points

Well the true question is: is there any hidden boss tougher than Kefka, you know, like Emerald and Ruby in FFVII?

A few things gave me hope that some boss like this would exist... like the guy in the cave in the veldt that says:

"In a forest north of the Veldt dwells a frightful dragon. How free we could be if someone could defeat it!"
or the rumor about Kaiser/Czar Dragon.

Anyone have PROOFS that such a boss does or does not exist?

DocFrance

Well, the Czar Dragon does exist, and you can find him. But you need to ressurect General Leo, give him the Gamma Sword, and find the final esper. You also have to get to this point in the game in under five hours. [/sarcasm] Sorry, I just had to do that.

well, the truth is that the Czar Dragon does exist on the ROM, but is not IN the game.

what gracious and subtle sarcasm... you almost had me smile doc.

thnx dragonfire, got any proof of this? and where can i find him and in which rom? I got the american version, do i need to get the translation of the japanese one (if there is any)?

and about the what the guy says in cave in the veldt? anyone know what he's talking about, and have a proof (of course) :).

I think what Dragonfire meant was, Square made the Czar Dragon, and saved the enemy file onto the cart. However, they never programmed the chance to battle against him. Basically, you'd need to edit the ROM(although you could probably edit a Save State to put the guy in) and create an encounter with the Czar Dragon. That is all.

Dragonfire

yes that is what i meant, and here.

These two pictures are from a FF3/6 editor, that was viewing a perfectly clean, unhacked rom.

Have you set up a battle with the Czar Dragon? That'd be cool. Heh, maybe you could give him a little friend to battle with - I noticed good ol' B.Day suit there, now that'd be a classic pairing if ever there was one :)

where would i go about getting one of these editors? when i get it, how complicated is it to use? If you do kill the Czar dragon, does the dude in the cave say anything different?

Lassic
04-23-2003, 08:49 PM
No... with the editor you probably can set this battle (IF this czar dragon really exists), what do not mean it will have any other effect in the game...

I just found an edited FF6 ROM, where someone replaced Katana Soul for this Czar Dragon...

You can get it here: http://con.opgaming.com/ff6/rumours.php

great thanks to all of you :). and what about the guy in the cave in the veldt... what is he talking about? proofs please, we've been doing find up to now. read the 6th post if you don't know what i'm talking about.

I'm assuming the guy in the cave on the veldt is referring to the Bracheosarus(sp?). Why? Because your encounters with the Bracheosarus are never-ending, as is his response about the dragon up north.

InDeCeNt_CaReSs
04-25-2003, 01:45 AM
to me, the fact that his response is never-ending would be a reason to believe he's not referring to the Brachosaur... oh well.

Yes, I agree with InDeCeNt_CaReSs. I've spent countless hours searching... searching... ever searching for that confounded "dragon" in the forest above the Veldt and all I ever found is a dumb dinosaur. I was pretty mad because for one thing, I think that I had already beaten all of the other dragons and secondly I was under the impression that I would get something special for killing the beast. Guess Squaresoft got one over on me... again.

I found someone harder than Kefka.
Its Zigfried in the collosseum. Bet a Megalixir (I think)
and you will fight the real Zigfried. He does 2500-6500 damage with attacks. Strangely, his true form doesnt appear in the Bestiary.

InDeCeNt_CaReSs
05-01-2003, 12:41 AM
never tried that... i'll check it out...

last time i fought him he attacked 8 times and couldn't make anything better than a 6. i think that was back in phantom train.

anyone else's got something about the dragon?? anyone know what squaresoft said about it?

The Man
05-01-2003, 11:00 AM
That's because the Ziegfried you fight on the phantom train is an impostor.

CzarDragon's pretty much the only foe in the ROM data with comparable stats to those of the final Kefka. But since the final Kefka was a pushover <I>anyway</I>... :p

I don't think Square ever really said much about CzarDragon, though.

InDeCeNt_CaReSs
05-03-2003, 12:44 AM
yeah and about what the guy says in Cave in the Veldt?

oh. so the real ziegfried is kinda strong?

wolfmah
05-03-2003, 02:09 AM
Yeah, he's strong, but I don't see it as a real challenge since you can't control your character in the colloseum.

To see his stats... (http://www.wolfmahheaven.net/games/ff6/monsters.php?name=Siegfried&order=all)

And if you follow the same logic, you could try to beat the crap out of Chupon in the colloseum, you could consider him the hardest monster to kill in the entire game.

InDeCeNt_CaReSs
05-04-2003, 01:25 AM
yeah... anyone know a site where you can get what Squaresoft said about rumors?

yo, really the guy at the veldtwas a side quest that never was finished. czar dragon and him have nothing to do with each other, sorry!

InDeCeNt_CaReSs
05-19-2003, 05:16 AM
Yeah i knew that. but how come it was never finished? can we do it in the japanese version?

And if you follow the same logic, you could try to beat the crap out of Chupon in the colloseum, you could consider him the hardest monster to kill in the entire game.

There IS a way... If whoever your atma weapon is equipped on deals 9999 every time, here's what you do, give them a black belt and an offering, and you'll win if the following happens... you attack for 4 9999's, chupon attacks, you counter for 4 more 9999's. It's really hit or miss, but it works when it happens.

DCI Forever!!

wolfmah
05-21-2003, 02:37 AM
For that to work, your character will need to make the first move, and that means a load of speed (which is the hardest thing to level up). And do not forgot that Chupon almost always (if it's not always) attack with is damn Sneeze, so even if you take the first shot on him, you will only do 39996 and got something like 50305.

DCI Superfan
05-21-2003, 05:43 PM
True, but the thing is, I never tried it with a character that wasn't level 99. Like I said, it's really hit or miss, so much so that it's not really worth it, it's just the fact it's possible.

DCI Forever!!

InDeCeNt_CaReSs
05-21-2003, 08:51 PM
hey uuuuh... 39996... for the extra 10000... how bout equiping illumina and atma weapon with genji glove and offering???????? i beat Chupon regularily with locke since he's got great speed... (i raised it a little with odin, but still...)

Chupon AND Sigfried are killed easily this way.

so... about the guy in the cave in the veldt... the sidequest.--- can we do it in the japanese version?

According to the author of the strategy guide for FFIII (the SNES version of FFVI), 'frightful dragon' is a literal translation of the Japanese word for 'dinosaur'. If he's right, then the Brachiosaur is what the cave guy was mentioning.

Flying Mullet
05-23-2003, 12:10 AM
That poor cave guy's never going to get any sleep as the dinosaurs are never going to disappear. I think it's time for him to find a new cave.

InDeCeNt_CaReSs the whole thing is Square (soft) had to release it becase people were getting impatient, so they never finished all of the side-quests and polished it up and said the brachisaur (not sure if i spelled that right) was the dragon.

I know all!:mog: :mog: :mog:

This is an interesting discussion. I also have fought for hours trying to find the Dragon of which the guy in the cave speaks of, but to no prevail. I was hoping for a good challenge too but all I found was Kefka, who I defeated effortlessly. I heard that throwing the Ragnarok at Kefka does a one-hit kill on him. Is this true?

bebi vegeta
05-25-2003, 07:44 PM
Wrong weapon, atma weapon is the one you throw at him, i dont like doing it because it is a cheap shot...

impatient idiots... if they had let Square finish all the sidequests they couldve made a better game than chrono trigger. well... ffVI is still a masterpiece but i'm angry anyways. :mad2:

i have heard this too... i tried it and it didn't work.
 me who thought i'd have another reason to say shadow's the coolest.
