HELP!!! FF origins!Siroa 04-13-2003, 09:47 PM I play with my ps2, but the game doesn't detect my memory card! Is there something that I don't know?!?!?! Faris_the_guy 04-13-2003, 09:50 PM Try making more space. Meijin 04-13-2003, 09:54 PM Use a PS1 memory card. (saves only take 1 block.) Siroa 04-13-2003, 10:18 PM But will the ps1 card work on the ps2??? isn't it incompatible? Faris_the_guy 04-13-2003, 10:20 PM Belive me. It'll work. I do it all the time. Siroa 04-13-2003, 10:28 PM Sincerely, that's stupid! Another way to make money! argh! Faris_the_guy 04-13-2003, 10:58 PM I know, but thats life. Siroa 04-13-2003, 11:07 PM Yeah I know. Thanks Faris! zelda78 04-14-2003, 02:30 AM ps1 games require ps1 memory cards; ps2 games require ps2 memory cards ps2 memory cards aren't backwards compatiable; while the ps2 itself is PS1 memory cards, though, can be found rather cheap Moshenokoji 04-19-2003, 06:36 PM I don't think its a scam to make moeny with the memory card thing, the newer games just need more space. if you do the math a PS1 card only holds 128KB on it while the PS2 card holds 8mbs ( 8,000 KB ). Its not a scam at all. But it would be nice if the PS1 games could save to the PS2 memory card. DJZen 04-19-2003, 10:50 PM Sadly, there is still some element of scam in it.... Many companies don't optimize memory card save state space. Why? Because they can. While I personally haven't run into this problem, I don't have tht many PS2 games. Moshenokoji 04-20-2003, 12:37 AM Games today are majorly changing also. Look at some of todays games, they need like 64mb DDR video cards to run well. that dark ages of camelot PC game needs a 1.4 ghz processor to run. Games are changing and at a rapid pace. Its the same with consoles sort of. It would be nice if the companies could down size on the save state space for some games but i haven't ran into a problem with not enough space left. if your concerned about space go and get an X-Box it has its own 8 GB hard drive. DJZen 04-20-2003, 01:54 AM Right, 'cause you can play FFO on Xbox.... Bob the Elf 04-20-2003, 11:37 AM Actually, PS2 memory cards can hold PS1 save data, they just can't be used by PS1 games, try copying info from a PS1 memory card onto a PS2 memory card, then whenever you want to use the data, just put it back onto a PS1 memory card. I do it all the time, it's mega-nifty. Just another useful hint, don't get an X-Box. Moshenokoji 04-20-2003, 06:51 PM look on the PS2s browser screen onto a PS1 memory card, each PS1 save is 8KB. The card has 15 blocks each block having 8KB, if the card is 1mb why is it that i can only get 15 saves onto one card????? | |
