MSXML 4.0

I was trying to play Age of Mythology when after the opening cinematics, the program shuts down and an error window states that MSXML 4.0 is not correctly installed and is required to play the game. I was able to play the game just a little while ago, what happened and how can I fix this mess? I don't think I deleted anything important by the way.

I went to Google and found out Microsoft has it to Download. I didn't think that was something you could download. Anyhoo, I really want to know how it got deleted in the first place! *feels like an idiot*
