After a spat with one of the moderators at CrashMog's ezBoard, I needed another place to hang around, so I typed "final fantasy" into ezBoard's search feature. I looked at a few FF boards, but at EoFF, I saw a post by Peon Walkie about his difficulty in having a crush on his friend's sister. I was amazed at how opening this fellow was being on a public forum, and lo--! People were actually responding with sensitivity and not flames! The boards I'd been at beforehand were places in which the usenet tradition of flaming newbies was well entrenched. I posted a few feeler messages, and was met by a community that accepted me for who I was, not as "just another damn newbie". I've loved this place since.
