The Second Annual General Election.

<b>No more parties. Commence voting.</b>

As some of you may know, last year, about this time of the year, we, here at Eyeson, had a general election. It was a vile thing, filled with corrupt power, traitorous manoeuvres amongst the candidates, many rules and lots of fun. That is why we, the representatives of those who want a new general Election, are now proclaiming one.

The Rules:
The election revolves around the numerous parties to be created. Every part has to name at least four nominates, each one for a certain Forum. These are named respectively the Prime Candidate, the Second Candidate, Third Candidate, etc.

You vote for a party. If that party gets more votes than any other party, which has the same Prime Candidate as they do, that candidate is nominated the Puppet-Ruler of the respective forum.
If the part loses in votes, their Secondary (Second) candidate counts as the Prime Candidate.

Example:

The ”Boarsecs” have as their Prime Cand. ”Admiral Bleys” nominated for ”The Satirist’s Corner”.
The ”Underublicatic” have as their Prime Cand ”Madam Krelian”, nominated for ”The Satirist’s Corner” as well.

Now, if the ”Boarsecs” have more votes than the ”Underublicatic”s, they get ”Admiral Bleys” as the Puppet Ruler of the ”Satirist’s Corner”. If they lose, their Secondary Cand, ”No Sleep For Me” fights for the ”Painter’s Little Manhattan Penthouse” against the ”Regular” ’s ”Mukztsi” and the ”Brian Boitano’s Bonne Barty” ’s ”Balan”, where ”Mukztsi” is likewise a Secondary Cand.(the ”Regular”s lost ”General Hat” for the ”Milker”s with their Prime Cand.) and ”Balan” is the Third Cand.
When a Cand for any party has been voted, that party has no other worries than to lean back, and watch those who are left, fight.

Easy, ne? Don’t worry. Just put up some parties (with at least four nominations), name the candidates for the forums, and PM us. Then put up a Party Thread.

I am not running again. I don't even remember what our name was. All I remember was that I lost, it took a month to elect someone and most people lost interest rather quickly with it running so long, our slogan was ':bou::bou::bou::bou::bou: it' but with out the *. We actually got away with that one surprisingly.

EDIT: BLARG! I looked up and saw the name. We were the rulers.

Oh, geez. I remember seeing one of these. I didn't take part of it though, and I doubt I will this time.:P

My confusion level is reaching previously unheard of levels. My head might explode any min... *explodes*.

I wasn't aware of this, because I thought I'd play fair and not do an IP scan on EoFF Sniper.

Spatvark filled me in on this, and EoFF Sniper has been removed from the Goatsecs Candidate list (at least the one on my hard drive--I may not have enough time to go through General Chat today, and hence I may not get a chance to update the candidate list.)

Hmmm... since I can very much be considered a newbie and since I wasn't around to see this last year (I'm assuming it was last year), I have absolutely no clue at all what is being arranged here. Anyone want to give me a dumb'd down version? :mog:

AkitaWolf, as you quite rightfully presumed, the Election was hold last year: But it ended this year. It started in somewhere after my birthday, and continued to January, when the actual voting took place.

I've noticed lots of people seem really confused so hopefully this will help simplify the rules and process:

1) Each party must name at LEAST 4 candidates
2) These candidates MUST be put into rank order, 1 being the highest
3) These candidates MUST be allocated to individual forums
4) There is to be no voting until Election Booth says so
5) When voting begins, the No. 1 candidates will fight for their nominated forums against the opposition candidates nominated for that forum
6) If the No.1 candidate loses, the No.2 candidate is next up for voting. The voting process is then repeated
7) When a candidate for a party wins their forum, that party may no longer compete for other forums
8) This repeats until all parties have won a forum and then the elections are over

This is my understandings of the rules. Any questions or corrections can be posted in this thread, and I will then edit my original post. Capiche? (Damn, being in the Goatsecs party is turning me into a Mafioso like Wyll & Bleys!)

I have a small gripe with points 7 and 8, and that is concerning the larger parties.

The way I see it, these points imply that each party should have as many candidates as there are parties. Then for the election process, each of these X party members will be distributed evenly into the same amount of fora, then elect until everybody wins a fora.

Although I undestand the reasoning for the everybody wins method, but I feel that it's just not feasible. If you don't allow the party to run for any other forum after they win one, you end up being unfair to those of the remaining candidates of that party by denying them the chance to run.

I think I'll end my rant here and allow some time to reflect and react.

As I said, that was my understanding of the rules... personally I don't like it, but it does introduce some clever tactical thinking... anyway, I may have misinterpreted the rules, but blame Election Booth, not me... it was really hard trying to translate his rules into reality... (sorry Nait)

Yeah, the rules are suckfully explained. I think it's all good but for 7 & 8, when Spat's sayin' it.

Now, some things for Nait:

1) Remove EoFF Sniper from the Goatsecs list.
2) Go to the second page of the Phucking Pharty's thread, and you'll find a nice little list, and some people even have forums allocated, too. Grand.

Bleys might want to remove EoFFSniper from his list in his thread, too.

Bleys created another list in the Goatsecs Party thread where EoFF Sniper is removed from the lists

As for points 7 & 8) if someone could explain to me that bit from what Nait said, I'd gladly edit my post to reflect it... but that's what it looks like to me...

So, what the hell? Are we just gonna sit here and have the occasional sig, and otherwise do nothing? Coz, I mean, that's great and all. But nobody has any new questions in the Discussion & Debate thread, and so on... is there any point in continuing for much longer? We need some kind of thing to base our reasons for getting voted for besides pretty artwork and popularity. Or not getting voted, for that matter.

Basically, I asked the same damn question in the Goatsecs thread... I think if we're gonna do this, we might as well do it properly or not at all... I reckon people that have been nominated to a forum should make a post in that thread detailing their pledges... I'm thinking of starting one up in The Writer's Corner, that's what I'm nominated for...

A) Votes can be recycled. If Party A. gets a forum by Primary, it has priority to that specific forum. If Party B loses their Primary, but have their Secondary the same as Party A's Primary, they compete over that Forum on a recycle basis. This is continued until every vote is counted and every party matched.

I'll put up a Speach Thread sometime soon. Where every candidate holds a speach and such.

Yes! Add the International Penguin Party to the Elections. I'm the advisor who u can find in the chatroom when the other big head leaders are not around. I'm not in the party, but I help them out, if the International Penguin Party members aren't around, look out for me! W00t!

It is not our intention to ignore the other parties and we have not. Our intention is to convince them that we would make a stronger party if we all <b>joined</b> to stand <b>together</b> against the Goatsecs. We have asked them to consider this and hopefully they will realize that it would be to their advantage.

But that would be used on your advantage, and that's foul play. We're playing this fair and square, and you guys are trying to get others to join you. I'm sorry, but it doesn't work that way. You're promising everything under the sun, and those promises are ones you cannot keep.

I'm not denying the existance of other parties. It just seems like there's a huge rivalry going between us n00bs and the Goatsecs. The other parties don't seem to be quarreling quite as much as we are.

We need to have some issues to debate. We still have an entire month to this campaign, so things will pick up once we establish some debating points.

Party B's Second. Candidate has not until then competed against ANYONE. They lost their Primary Cand, which means it is the Sec. Cand.'s turn.

Second of all, I think your explanation just made things even more confusing...You really need to redo the electoral process and try to make it as clear and consice as possible.

Sorry all. It wasn't cookie-problems why I was gone for five days; It's the damn QuickCam. It screwed three times it's register, corrupted dozens of files(with it the Win98 install CD-copied-on-the-harddrive), and I couldn't get Windows work properly.

Each person has one vote
They can use this to vote for any EoFF party of their choice
There is NO voting for specific forums, just partys
You are allowed to vote for your own party if you are in one
