I have issues with Quick Reply in Firefox. Sometimes it just won't work, I push the button "Reply" and the page won't change and if I go back, no answer has been posted. What's the point of having Quick Reply if you're forced to switch to extended mode then?

I've only had that happen to me if my post would be the 30th/60th/90th etc reply of the thread so should be on the start of a new page :p Though I'm sure it used to work in an older vB version :p

I've had something similar happen when I edit a post. After I edit the post and I click the "Save" button, my browser just churns but never actually updates the post. Then I click the "Go Advanced" button and submit from that screen and everything's hunky-dory.

It's a bug with AJAX in vbulletin or something. I think I looked it up on their forums and saw they pretty much had nothing going for them.
Your best bet is if it doesn't post immediately as it should, hit go advanced and post it normally.

Quick Reply if it's working else you could be waiting a while?

I wonder if it continually reprocesses the request or if you get one shot.

It does it in IE too :p
I usualy just push back, then reclick the thread. If my post didn't go through I use quick reply again and it goes right away. Of course, I always copy big/important posts before quick reply because I've lost too many posts over the years that way.

It's not a browser thing, it's a bug in the forum software. It can't reconcile posting your message as the first on a new page with actually posting it. It seemed like it used to just add it on to the end of the page, but they changed something and broke it. The only reason it should change if it's this bug and not just the server being slow is if someone posts in the interim. Clicking go advanced is the easiest way to get your post made, you won't lose anything (because the quick reply box is an ajax creature, it goes away when you load a new page)
I haven't had it happen for a few months.

Happens to me even when the post doesn't go to a new page. I just click Go Advanced and do it that way.

It happens to me when I try to post symbols like ♥ in my posts.
...Yep, like right now. ^_^

That's your browser telling you that you shouldn't use symbols in posts.

use go advanced for anything with a non-latin character, jojo
(or use ♥ )
