Burtsplurt 08-14-2007, 11:26 PM Is anyone else having a problem with the quick reply box timing out? It keeps pretending like it's going to post my message with the cursor going round and whatnot, but nothing happens. I'm trying it on a different computer now, and it still occurs. It doesn't happen all the time, but enough to be a bit frustrating.
I left it for 15 minutes once while I made an okay sandwich and nothing happened.

Yamaneko 08-15-2007, 12:18 AM Yeah, apparently it's a problem with AJAX (the thing that makes quick reply and quick edit work) and the server working together.

I find that when I see the 'posting message' message stay up for longer than it should, I might as well just hit 'go advanced' and submit it from there.

And why would the server be suffering constant timeouts, is the database server not handing over the correct information quickly enough for the webserver to make use of it or has the cardinal sin of too many different types of things being hosted one one server been committed (database and webpages, etc)?

I always do that for quickedit. Never had any problems with quick reply though.*shrug*
