Hi, EoFF. I wrote a song today.
Called 'Aliens'.

With seven thumbs
And tentacles
And blinking eyes

With furry tongues
All skeletal
With their ugly eyes

But I’m not scared of Aliens anymore

Monsters
With their yellow drool
And warty toes
And rotting brains

With their crazy arms
And pointy teeth
And bouncing brains

I’m scared of people

In their business suits
With their cracking smiles
And plastic laughs

And their cheap handshakes
Their expensive drinks

Listening to this song makes me think of radios. I like radios, so I think that is a good thing.

Although I think your voice is a shade too quiet on the first two verses!

Yes! I know. It is hard to get the volume of the guitar and the vocals right with the placement of the microphone, but yeah. If I ever get proper recordings done that will not be an issue!

That was very, very good. I like the lyrics a lot, Psy was right though, it was hard to hear you over the guitar in the beginning.

It's very nice and the guitars are great, but something about the guitar parts just didn't seem to fit with the lyrics. But maybe I've been listening to Iron Maiden too much lately.

Not my taste but well done none the less. The only problems I really had were the recording quality, but I understand that couldn't really be helped.

It'd be great if we musicians could all have professional recording studios in our homes. It's gotten a lot easier over the years, but proper gear and programs are still pretty pricey. I understand the problem with trying to get good recording quality at home. I spent this past Sunday fighting to get the snare sound I wanted with mics that aren't the greatest in a room that's not ideal. Oh well; it can lead to some pretty creative solutions. ;)

I'd love to give your music another listen if you can get a good quality recording of it. Or even if you can't for that matter. This song may not have been my style, but you're definitely talented, and it would certainly be cool to hear some higher quality recordings of your stuff. Keep up the good work.

This is why everyone should listen to black metal, so they're used to bad quality recordings. xD

It means a lot. =] I've been thinking of saving up to my some better recording stuff soon, but I'm kinda poor. ;D I'll be getting EMA when I start 6th Form in September, though, so I'll be making thirty quid a week! I wanted to get a mandolin, too...

What sort of gear/programmes would you recommend to a rookie such as myself? 8-]
