Question about Samuraid.

He left the site, and there was no announcement of it, as there was when RSL left. For what reason did he leave?

Since EoFF will be (has been) moved to spdude's servers, Samuraid is no longer necessary to regulate server health; it's not his server any more. As a result, he has turned in his access, been dropkicked off of Staff without recognition of any sort, and given no title to denote that he was connected to EoFF at all.

So, it's like he got screwed and taken advantage of because he's a good person. Fun.

He left because of a personal decision. It was never "his" server to begin with. He helped Cid manage it.

SamuraiDBoy: spdude's new server has a full management service, and he owns it, so that's about 75% of the work I no longer have to be responsible for

I was gone for half of may and half of June, during which he stopped being an admin. I don't know anything about that. But he sure as hell was not "dropkicked off of Staff without recognition of any sort," nor was he screwed out of anything to my knowledge. But if you really want to stir up :skull::skull::skull::skull:, Tavrobel, I suppose you could say he was screwed out of the time he donated to EoFF on a completely voluntary basis.

But he should have that FS title.

FS is an optional rank for retired staffers. A few of them choose to not have it, I guess Samuraid didn't want it either considering (if I recall correctly) he demoted himself and could have given himself the rank without any objection from staff.

There's nothing interesting about why Sam left. He's got, like, a real life or something ridiculous like that.

Sam and I both graduated college at the same time. We have lives now. New priorities. Selling out. Get with the times.

I will say, for the record, that he was a hell, HELL, of a guy. I even offered him compensation for the insane amount of work he did for this site. Naturally, being the class act that he was, he turned it down. Here's to you, Sammy.

edit: i think we didn't announce sam's departure because he didn't want to make a deal, or spdude didn't want to make a deal, or whatever. but clearly we should do something.
