What? I changed sides exactly once and I at least had a semi-plausible reason for it. The problem was that everyone kept posting in public that there was fierce debate going on in the staff forum about whether Kishi should be unbanned or not and when asked by you I could only come up with Shlup vs. everyone else. That was already a huge contradiction that I was very worried about.

But yeah, there were surely plenty of hints and screw ups on our parts. By the end when a few people obviously had it figured out, I didn't really care. I was pulling my hair out hoping that this would end. And now that it has, I'm much happier.

You're lucky you guys didn't kick off Daryl as per the original plan, because with only the "Pro-Kishi" people left, according to Shlup, I probably would've suspected something.

wait a second, hold the phone, there was an april fools joke?
it was good in that it was sneaky and had everyone wondering about stuff, but for an unobservant fool like me i totally missed half of what was happening so just thought that no april fools stuff had been done!

That would be some trick.

One can't help but admire the brilliant execution, but I think the real value of the staff's joke is on a deeper level: in short, their success depended upon their failure. You just don't get such grand absurdities when a toaster rapes Abraham Lincoln, to use the vernacular.

On the other hand, I don't think any April Fool's joke could top the Pope's.

Brilliant. Then again, with 1000 posts of planning behind it, you'd think they could have cured cancer while they were at it.
