I'm in about the same spot. I just got home from work to start reading about all this, and I currently don't have any significant access to the server to read logs and find out what's going on. Although, it looks as if things are much more under control now...
As for the issue at hand, Firefox may have cached an incorrect mime type for the EoFF forum index. Try clearing your Cache and/or pressing CTRL+F5 to completely reload the page in question. Other than that, we'll all have to wait.
