Yeah. Also if you make a joke out of it others could end up getting offended and think that they're just closing it for enjoyment and not because the thread is against the rules.
If anything, witty thread closing marks should be removed to make sure that doesn't happen. I know it's boring like that but it's better to be boring than to be offending. Moderators should also post the reason for closing the thread in all threads unless it's already been mentioned. Sometimes the reason for having a thread is closed isn't obvious enough and needs a somewhat more in depth explanation so the thread doesn't seem to be getting closed as a staff joke.
