Probably not. Depending on the version of the game you're using the damage Ultima does will be based more on your spell levels than your Spirit value. Although it's worth noting your Spirit will go up when you use it, and I often have everyone using the Cure spell regardless of their class so their Spirit is often semi-levelled either way. |
